Subject line says it all.  I have a Toshiba laptop, acquired this summer for a project.  It came with Windows Vista and haven't yet had a chance to convert it to Linux.   Any help is appreciated.

A google search seems to show few results. I found this.

If this site doesn't work, you can try Malwarebytes (found at http://www.malwarebytes.org/) Malwarebytes is an excellent anti-malware program that has saved my system from reformat. Just boot up your system in safe mode and do a full scan.

Hope this helps.

The reason I ask is that there are apparently a half dozen fake removers that actually install more malware and doesn't remove the Cybot.

Icey

malwarebytes. I use it and it gets rid of everything.

Why don't you use this as an excuse to reformat with Linux?

If malwarebytes doesn't work: Try this website:

http://www.myantispyware.com/

They have a forum where the guy running the site helps you throughout the process of removing whatever you've got.
