Femme Stab Mode >:D

I agree with paranoia. First games never work out if they're long. I planned my first game to have 60   :o rooms and it never worked out. I still have the script for the first 18 rooms. I stoped and made a small 4 room game. It worked out (barely and with bugs).  Detective stories end up long and are very complicated and are hard to squeze into a short game, but I've seen it done in "who killed kenny rogers".I guess a good way to go for a first game is a joke game or a short game(less than 5 rooms). If you are trying to make your story weird or different try making the main character non-human(in all of my games there is only 1 human character and that game is not yet released).
I believe that everyone can make up a story. If you're having trouble create a character first.  What are the character's likes/dislikes, weak/strong points? What individual features does he/she have that set him/her apart from others? Is the character an extrovert, ambivert or an introvert? What does the character think about himself/herself? Hope that helps  :)
