Hello boys and girls!  Just thought I'd share this freeware game I've been digging latley.  It's called Armagetron, and it's based on the light cycle races in the classic sci-fi Tron.  The graphics are excellent for such a small download and you can race people over the net.  I highly recommend this one.

Nice    I always liked the "Tron" movie and thought it would be cool to play a game that did the "Light Cycles" justice.

It looks like this game does a great job of capturing the "Tron Movie" feel, putting you right in the action.  Installing the "moviepack" made the game even look better.  Only problem I had was when I went to try an dInternet game, the game crashed, locked up my computer  and I had to force a reboot of my system    Other than than, the game rawks, especially considering it's Free too.

Its cool, although it is hard online when you have a high ping, and you don't see that the person who you were chasing turned and you died

yeah, I find its kinda laggy online most of the time, people seem to go accross their own tails and turn stupidly fast and stuff like that.

Where would it end if everyone posted about every good freeware game we know, just to make sure it's been posted and brought to everyone attention? Hmmm, come to think of it, I actually like that idea.

Perhaps there should be a Favourite-non-adventure-freeware-games-recommendation-thread... So, on the risk of going off-topic, even though this one already has a nice generic title, do you already know Seiklus?

The best Pacman remake I've found

The guy had to take the game off his site, but I dug around and found the renamed file. 

Kick ass post, by the way.

Nice! That's an awesome version of Pac Man. Much better than the fan remakes I've suffered through.

Here are free non adventures I have played the most that everyone-has-probably-played-but-still-deserve-posting-in-the-sticky:

Noctis
Noctis is a massive, eerie, lonely, 3d space exploration game.Ã,  You can fly to any star you see in the sky, land on any planet or moon and walk around... and that's it.Ã,  Not really a "game" but worth experiencing.Ã,  Totally unique software 3d engine.

If someone is sitting next to me and we want to play multiplayer, I love to play this.Ã,  No remake has done it justice.

Angband
Nethack
And other roguelikes. They can be repetitive, and you need to use your imagination with the "graphics" but I often find myself playing them. The idea of totally randomly generated worlds is quite cool, try one if you haven't.

Seiklus is nice, I might have linked that if it wasn't already.

I'd like to be linked to some more good games please.

Space Taxi 2 (Free Playable Demo made by an Independent game developer) :
If you liked the original Space Taxi (back in the old Commodore 64 days), then you'll enjoy this modern version. The demo lets you play about the first half-a-dozen levels or so.Ã,  Anyways, I really enjoy it.
