Recommended Nifty FireFox Extensions

Has anyone other great extensions to recommend?
I use the following extensions for firefox (v3.0.10):

SkipScreen is my latest addition, GREAT for sites as e.g. rapidshare: no more waiting!

I'm quite happy with Opera. I doubt I could be faffed with a browser that had loads of addons.

I haven't really got much in the way of add-ons and stuff, but the most notable thing I do have is this 'Furigana Injector'. Whenever I'm on a Japanese page with lots of kanji, I just hit the button and it inserts furigana so that I can at least pronounce the kanji, even if I don't know what it means.

Really useful tool for learning purposes.

I agree completely with this statement. Opera already has all of the features that I need and is highly customisable which is a good thing because the Opera devs have recently done some stupid stuff, like moving the browser identification and enable/disable plugins to individual site preferences. But with a little searching of the Opera forums and a little fiddling on the ini they're now both under Quick Preferences again.

Opera users are like the Mac people of browsers or something. Jesus, can't you guys let one thread about Firefox be without interrupting and being all high-and-mighty about how your browser is so much better... Sorry if that sounds mean but it's really the way I feel.

Arjon, I think you're set pretty much. Mouse gestures are a thing a lot of people like, haven't tried it myself though. I also added the net video hunter and skip screen ones, thanks.

Yeh?! Well Opera has mouse gestures already! SO NER YOU BIG OLD MEANIE!

I think it actually works the other way round too (and more often), whenever there's a discussion about any other browser the Firefox people come along and talk about how great it is because of all the addons. But let's not turn this into a debate about which browser is better okay?

I use DownloadHelper to pull Youtube videos, and Myspace music, and other online assets.
Also have SessionManager to autosave my tabs when I close (I browse with 10+ tabs alot of the time)

I have FEBE, Gmail Manager, IETab, and UnPlug.

Gmail Manager allows me to from any page quickly and easily see the subjects and opening lines of my emails in my inbox without the tedious (

) work of pulling up and logging into Gmail. If I still had multiple Gmail accounts like I used to (when I had multiple MySpace accounts) it also supports quickly changing between the accounts which I like.

UnPlug basically does the same as DownloadHelper.

I'll have to check it out. DownloadHelper has lost a bit of functionality when a few sites updated their streaming/flash players.

I'm only using Opera because Firefox wouldn't update on me. And now I like Opera better. Not much wrong with Firefox though. I guess all these extensions could be helpfull. The only usefull one I see in your list is the weatherfore cast. But as I would go no matter what weather it is, I would rather not know lol

For all you college-student, professor-finding people, I recommend Professor Ratings.
(Simplifies searching by being able to right click on a professor's name, and then being hyper-linked to his/her professor ratings page.)

Nobody mentioning Grease Monkey? It's brilliant, it allows you to run scripts that modify the way webpages are displayed and adds brand new functionality.

Off the top of my head, there's a script for organising Penny Arcade strips with tags so you can search them, a script for downloading Youtube videos, and a lot of other stuff too.

NoScript.

Basically turns your browser into heavyily defended internet fortress. You decide what internet is allowed to run and from which domains.
Kind of renders all other anti-ad plugins/extensions useless, since there's no need to block what's not coming through anyway. NS is first thing I install after fresh firefox installation. I cannot imagine surfing without it anymore.

A bit annoying to allow sites at first, but once you've gone through your usual surfing habits / locations, it's all good. Plus, browsing is considerably faster since all those additional fifteen ad/tracking/spamming sites don't slow down your favourite site anymore.

TE2 is in experimental stage yet, but I like it very much

And I second downloadstatusbar. Default download window is lame.
