Can't let this thread be without my share (might even have something playable for the deadline). Oh my.

Screenie from an in-production project, testing out two playable characters and a (for me) rather different GUI

And as a little boon... KeeeAAAAAAARGH! *hiss*

I really want to have a shot at those DVDs!

Ghost

@ Arj0n: That's a compliment and no mistake! Glad you like it.

@AGScovE3l: You can. Because rocket launching rocket launchers LAUNCH rockets at everything.

I don't know why I haven't opened and read this thread before today.

I will be releasing something, and guess what! It's not just some random module!

Okay, okay, I admit. If I can find the time I also plan to release my EasyBake module (It Makes Toast!), but there's something bigger going on here. Very few people know about it.

And by very few I mean me, Dualnames, Mr Flibble, Secret Fawful, Snake, and also Maxilyah of the TTG forums. I've kept the whole thing very low key. :P

Anyone who badgers them for information will be held in contempt and asked to do voice act--er--I don't know what you're on about!

ThreeOhFour

So much fine fare being shown off here, and time for a reminder: you have two weeks left until the deadline :)

Keep polishing away at your goodies for release, folks, I know I am! And keep the good stuff rolling in, this thread is filling up with coolness!

Armageddon

Here's some of my old stuff.

Yep.

EDIT: Wow these images are huge.

LRH

I suppose I should also release super duper alpha-hackjob screenies of the final nightmare whatchyamacallit.

(Don't worry - Kelma will be fixing up my artistic mess.)

Here James is trapped in a cell. Use your nifty text parser to figure out how to get him out of this situation. It should be noted that the "blue dots" are part of a water dripping animation.

This is a part of a cutscene.

This is the default text box. Ew.

This is just a still of a room that will be in the game.

Quick question (which shouldn't be an issue for me, but just clarifying) is the "official" deadline before 12:00 AM GMT 11 July or just 12:00 AM in your local timezone on 11 July?

InCreator

I don't think it matters as long as you release something! It's not like there's a jury and prize

ThreeOhFour

Yep, doesn't really matter. Nobody will get upset if you're 4 hours late  :)

monkey0506

I actually hereby vow to get furiously pissed off at any and everyone who posts "something" within the two weeks following the exact deadline of 12:00 AM 11 July in their local timezone. :=

Also, R4L is still alive?

Secret Fawful

This is basically a proof of concept mockup of a game project I thought up a few years back, and just haven't done anything with yet, although I plan to someday. I realize that the sprite is off, but it was basically a sprite I cobbled together to show how the game would work. Basically, it wouldn't be run on verbs or verb coins or verb icons or parsers, which is why you don't see any in the screen. I was hoping to develop something a little more contextual. I've done plenty of work on the game's story, just none on the game, but this is basically the first thing I've ever released of it-

Actually, why not extend your "pissed off at people releasing things" deadline until the next release something?

Two weeks seems an arbitrary, baseless period of time. Use logic and reason, man!  8)

monkey0506

Nah, it's not arbitrary. It's based on highly complex scientific data. See, two weeks is exactly how long after this Release Something ends that my ability to care about anything that anyone else released or didn't release will completely wear out. :P

Sounds just like that old "scientific method" chestnut I read about back in school. And I can't argue with science!  :D

mode7

Well it's called release something isn't it. Well I sure will be releasing something on the 10th of July - It might or might not be finished ;)

OneDollar

I'm going to post a load of screenshots from some of my old abandoned/forgotten/on hold projects, hope that counts as 'something'. Click the images for full size.

Screens from a sci-fi game that was going to be my second AGS game.

The first of many non-adventure games I tried to make in AGS. I played Mods' Games Galore! demo and loved the idea, but didn't like all the text. I tried to make graphical interpretation (which mostly works), but I didn't really know how best to do things within AGS's limits and made a lot of early choices that I regretted later. Led to...

Little Simulated People, a demake of the Sims I did for MAGS. Technically I already released this, but I'm putting it here because it never went in the games database and I don't think many people played the tech demo. Was supposed to have more objects and features, but importing the required artwork for an object is a pain, and due to the rush to finish for MAGS the code got a bit unreadable towards the end. Also the last time I played it crashed.

Attempt one at jumping on the OceanSpirit Dennis bandwagon. Tried to do an origin story for Ray, but it clashed with other people's games.

OSD attempt two. Was supposed to be more RPG-like. I coded an RPG Maker 2000-like control system and did a load of graphics, then discovered I didn't have a story.

I am planning to release an actual game for the 10th, but it isn't one of the above. Fingers crossed.

Yes I'm still alive.  :P

Never ever ever let that stop you. The OSDverse is... flexible.

Here's a story. Dennis is tasked with defeating a great and silly evil, and does so.

ThreeOhFour

Yes, ddq is right, but he forgot to mention that the great and silly evil is smelly too (and probably even has breasts and therefore is disgusting  >:()
