Sounds like a trolling to me.

Then again... maybe I am wrong... I am bad at understanding such jokes.

Instead of locking the thread, how about we move it to Popular Threads? That way whoever wants to post in it can post in it and whoever doesn't, won't. It also won't stay at the top of the GenGen either for people who can't stand this thread.

I think you'll find Oceanspirit Dennis is the most sidey of sideways people around here. The rest of us are quite frontal.

Because I don't mind the thread, Lamperhead, I'm thinking about the other 90% of the forums that do.

But remember, there are 10% of us loving it ;D
I aproove of such a move. Though in time it probably won't be a "popular thread" no more.

What the hell is going on in this thread? :O

Sex with pixels!

(there has to be sth with sex. Okay, idea if anyone's up for it. OSD sucks for some people. But...but.. and bare with me here, have him have sex with famous adventure characters) or even better have him begged by gorgeous female characters!, that'd be great!!!
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

From what I have read in this post (mostly flood ¬¬), I can only say to Icey that:
1-Start to plan deeply your game, not just a name (making a fangame is not a good idea xd, or at least i think so).
2-If you want to integrate a coded system, you need to make a start with coding. If you don't know how to do something, better to look something made, not to say that you need someone to make your game. The stuff that Khris said at the start of the topic are good things to think about ;D.
3-The RPG tutorial that you mentioned at the start, as you see, is not planned for AGS3 neither a... detailed? battle system. BUT! It has some important topics to consider when you start your planning at the making of your RPG. Starting from the structures and stuff (magic and equipment data, enemies...) , then planning how to read those structures or if they're injected in the coding... and at last...! making the graphical stuff.

I hope that my flatter doe't sounded like nonsense, best regards,
L'ark Mitsinikos

PD.: I used RPG Maker for several years and I don't see it easier. It's the same, as the only thing that changes is the editor and the pre-build engine, but at both cases you're making a game, and it doesn't changes.

1. Apostrophes are not used to indicate plurality.
2. Commas and periods have a space after them.
3. All decent web browsers will point out errors to you by underlining them in red. Right-click on these words, and it will give you a list of suggestions, which you can click on to fix the spelling.

Just following these three tips will help keep your posts readable. I'm not trying to be rude, it's just that if you expect us to answer your questions, you should put some more effort into asking them. :)

What's wrong with teaming up with someone?
Seriously, good games are rarely made by one man. Having a team project allows each member to focus on what's he/she is best at (writing story/drawing/coding etc).
Since you have pretty nice drawing skills, but have problems scripting rpg engine in AGS, you can seek for someone with better scripting skills to help you out.
Maybe you could even find another FF fan :)))

To Icey
Yeah seriously, mate.  If you have what it takes to work with another person, stick with a project, and compromise when your teammate(s) have their own ideas for the story/design elements (and really from what I have seen in this thread, you look like you are relatively open to that particular kind of input) you are actually in a pretty good position.  Granted, your reputation in these parts seems to have taken a bit of a hit, but there are a lot of competent scripters around who are not very good artists and would kill for a chance to work someone who has an easier time in that area.

If you can find someone who is willing to work with you, it might be worth a shot.  Though I'll be frank--you might have a slightly better chance if you offer your services, rather than asking people to join your project, at least for your first game.  People don't seem to like you very much right now, unfortunately, but you definitely have something to offer a project.  If you do good work with/for someone else's game, you'll get some great experience and maybe win some respect back.  Though at this point I wouldn't really blame you if you thought it wasn't worth it.  A lot of these guys have been absolute jerks to you (no offense, guys).
