He-Man

i think it's true that Simpson is getting quite dull.

I agree that South Park is funnier than ever before.
The political under and overtones really suits the show. I like the way the show pisses on both left and right.

I don't think that the animation is dying. I just think it's changing and new shows are taking over.

Have anyone seen the show Robot Chicken? It's one of the funniest shows I have seen in a very long time. It really hit the stupidity of television right on the spot plus it got all the actionfigures I played with when I was a kid.

Phemar

Anyone remember Freakazoid? Whatever happened to that? I have very fond memories of that show!

The first season of Family Guy was great, but now it's just a big mush of randomness, "remember that time when..." and broadway music. Seth is just a mediocre writer who got lucky.

And for the record, I ordered the full series of "Dastardly & Muttley in Their Flying Machines" on DVD today, and that show never got old.

Yeah, because everyone on the Internet has to like Family Guy.

If you've seen Schnookums and Meat Cartoon Hour maybe you'd change your tune!

Also, if you've met the writing crew and sat in on a session and went through whatever process Family Guy goes through to get a script approved and finalized maybe then you'd be able to make a random assumption on someone you've never met!

But more the Schnookums and Meat thing, I'd LOVE to see that damned cartoon again...

Right!
And about the whole randomness:
The many flashbacks got less, as the show progessed.
If you have seen the first episode, you will know, that it still had the probably most flashbacks of them all!
(At least until season 3, since I haven't any other seasons, because they are aired in germany 2 years later!)
On the other hand, the episode "From Method to Madness", for example, had only two or three of them, wich made me kind of sad, since it's one of the attributes of the show.
This were my two pence!

MrColossal

However, Family Guy totally jumped the shark after they killed Maude Flanders...

I prefer TV shows stopping too soon over dwindling on season after season...

Nacho

Humour is very subjective... I hate the Simpsons since the 7th season and NEVER ever had a laugh with Family Man... But I understand someone still laughs with it... It's something we can't discuss, really.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Wait a minute... This happened in "The Simpsons"!
Why should it affect Family Guy?

Las Naranjas

Because Maude's death led to the introduction of Cousin Oliver.

Have you met Seth? And even if you had, can't I have the opinion of thinking that Family Guy got sloppy after they gave Seth more control of the show, without Fox breathing down his neck? I think the Simpsons goes through some kind of process before their script is done and approved too, but that don't stop it from going downhill.

And I based my opinion on Family Guy, not on "random assumptions". It started out fresh, but got old fast. Sure, the show got some highlights, but it was much better before. Also, if I'm going to get technical about this, the animation is also mediocre. There's usually just one frame between someone standing up and hitting the floor. And even though this can sometimes give a comedic effect, there's other examples that pretty much just like that, without being funny. At times I wonder if my screen has frozen, because no one is moving.

MrColossal

I don't have to meet them, since I didn't make a comment that would warrant me needed to know them.

But I was just messing around, not trying to pick a fight.

However, on the animation, there's even less in Aqua Teens and it rules you all with an iron fist, so... Tweening Frames != Good Show!

You don't have to be a wanker to enjoy Aqua Teens, true...
