Whoah! I don't think that's true. I don't think it's true that that's what the response is like, and I don't think the statement is true.

I know people who have mobiles capable of running java games, none of them use that feature, playing games on your phone is something you do when extremely bored and unable to find a proper games system.

"imagin posting on the forums from your phone. lovely isnt it..." No, it's not.
Use mobiles for calling people, they are not games machines or web browsers and never will be.

I learned from a panel at CES 2005 that the number of people who play games on their cell phones is orders of magnitude bigger than the size of the traditional gamer market.

Many modern cell phones have decent sound cards and speakers (and later this year we'll see hybrid phones/MP3 players) and better than VGA-quality screens.

Plus the fact, Java is really too slow to use for games.

A friend of mine showed me a 3D racing game written in Java running smoothly on his cell phone. That's 3D, in Java, on a cell phone! So I definitely don't think it's true that Java is too slow to use for games.

Java may be too slow for AGS games, since the design of AGS (quite correctly) prioritizes flexibility and features over optimization.

Well well sum1 can c da lite! I am surfing from my 6600 now and replieing to the forums. So yes my phone rocks and yours doesnt plus i have speed text that enables of to type faster. Java games are among the best 3d games i have ever seen. My phone can run these games no problems. The later models foot just play mp3s they have more memory and better display. Among other features. See my gorgeous spelling ? i think dat there is alot of people that would like to see and create mobile games. Cant we make a poll or something so people can vote

I just have to say, I don't copy and paste my text into Word to correct it.  I've spent years praticing writing properly and I've (gasped) memorized most of the rules of grammar.  This is how I type - writing properly over time builds practice.  Practice makes perfect!  This entire little blurb took me maybe 30 seconds to write, and I didn't go back and correct it.  It may have an error.  Sue me.  I think it's readable, at least.
