Forums for 3D animators and artists?

I've found myself in a situation where I need to look for a 3D artist and animator to commit for a long-term (we're talking possibly years) project without much promise of anything except credit. I know this is a pretty impossible situation to be in. Still, I thought I'd give it a shot.

The gist of it is that my partner and I started pre-production on a game early last year. We were looking to start actual game production this year. Unfortunately, her health worsened in the meantime, and on my end my full-time job just got busier. Like, much much busier (work is launching a major endeavour that will significantly reduce my free time in the next three years at least). So it's become quite evident that we need to expand our team by taking on someone who can lighten her load at least, by doing the 3D art and animation.

The problem is that I don't have the slightest idea where to start looking. I've never hung out at 3D art communities. Nikolas (who's doing the music) has kindly suggested CGTalk and conceptart.org. I'll check those out, but I thought I'd go ahead and ask for advice from those of you who might know of somewhere, or even someone who might be interested.

Thanks in advance... and also sorry for having disappeared from the community for so long. Even my holidays have been mad... I booked a vacation only two weeks in advance (not recommended - bloody expensive) because I HAD to get away. What free time I had, I just wanted to burn sitting in front of the TV or playing games. I didn't have the motivation to work on any of my games (and I have two, not including the voice acting for TM and one idea that's currently on the shelf because I seriously have no time for it). I want to change that, and to do that I have to find some way to move ahead with my main project.

If anyone wants details on the project you can read about it at http://www.teameffigy.com/?cat=6 or PM me. But mainly I'd be grateful just for some pointers to places where I can find people who are will to (urk) work for free.

(Also sorry for the crazy number of parentheses. I think I do that when I'm nervous, and for some reason I am right now.)

If you're looking for 3D-related boards, have you considered the Blender community forums?

http://www.blender.org/forum/
The fediverse needs great indie game developers! Find me there!

Or http://blenderartists.org

The forum on Blender.org is more about the software itself than art, I'd recommend blenderartists.org. My impression is that it's a bit less professional-oriented than CGTalk, so you might have more luck. I don't mean to say to say that there isn't great work on blenderartists, it's just that free software attracts inexperienced artists too.

I hadn't considered Blender actually. Thanks, it might just be what I'm looking for.

I'm a 3d artist  ;) I'm no good with animation though.

These are two forums I hang out quite alot:

http://www.polycount.com/
http://www.game-artist.net/

Both sites have a mix of hobbyist and industry proffesionals so it might be helpfull. They both have a place to ask for people to work for you, both paid and unpaid.
