What has AGS done for you?

It gave me a great reason to freak out my friends and family by saying "Oh yeah, I'm going away for a week by myself to meet some guys from the internet and camp with them."

And it was a great diversion from class in the college days.

Oh, yeah, I HATE bringing that up.

I'll tell others that I met up with Europeans last year, and then they'll be like... "How did you meet them?"

Then I sigh, and say... the internet.... 

Good times.

In return why don't we open a cafepress shop and honour CJ with all the profit whilst we benefit from tacky yet perfectly respectable AGS goods!! I just don't have that get-up-and-grund to make my own t-shirt

AGS has:

-Given me yet another reason to never leave the apartment
-deprived me of hours upon hours of time that could otherwise be spent watching tv
-aided in the break-up of at least one girlfriend so far
-fed my freakish obsession with perfection
-led to many akward conversations that involve:

"So you make video games?"
"Yeah, kinda."
"What, like Doom or something?"
"No, they're adventure games."
"What's an adventure game?"
"Nevermind."

AGS has added a lot to my life.  And maybe taken some away.

AGS helped me:

Be persistant.
Improve my writing.
Improve my drawing.
Improve my music.
Improve my programming skills through hours and hours of unspeakable pain and frustration.

And of course, AGS brought me to this wonderful forum.

The forum has:

Corrupted my mind.

I have an obsession with perfection in the important things.  Like the PHP script I was up till 1 a.m. last night perfecting, only to discover that there is a way I can create the MySQL database if it doesn't exist, then create the table if it doesn't exist.  So...now there's more perfecting to be done!  I'm away!!!

Edit:  I've only just started learning PHP three days ago.  Quit laughing at me!!! :'(

AGS helped me escape that cult I should have never joined.

If it wasn't for AGS I'd never have met Ron Gilbert and therefore arranged to meet up with James but he never showed up so I whined at him a bit and we got talking and so if that hadn't happened we wouldn't be going out and I wouldn't be working as a games tester and I wouldn't be in Brighton right now and I wouldn't be a fraction as happy as I am right now.

I've had two bottles of KICK which is 44,000% of my RDA of vitamin B or something. and god knows what of caffeine. I'm still at work. I am seeing visions of this game. Every time I close my eyes, my thoughts are organised like troops, and I think in turn-based strategy mode. Holy crap.
