“I am happy to announce that after talking with my children, my family and my closest friends, I have decided to return to professional cycling in order to raise awareness of the global cancer burden," Armstrong said in a statement released Tuesday by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

If he wins an 8th Tour de France (at age 37) I will be very impressed indeed!

I must admit this doesn't surprise me ... retirement these days (for celebrities) very rarely sticks!  They often get pulled back into the spot-light.  The sad thing is that, oft-times, when they return they never recapture that former glory and thus taint their legacy.

Here's hoping Lance "Aragorn" Armstrong doesn't meet the same fate!

But great work Lance. Rather aged for a sports star, not that 37 is old in regular people terms, it would be an immense effort for him to pull out a big win. But here's hoping huh?
