I was planning on making a "What's your favorite breast size" thread, but I guess that's out of the question now.

NOW I agree. three or four "What's your..." threads in 8 hours! Jesus! Lock em' down!

*thinking*
It's going to seem that we need "What's your problem?" or "What's your mental illness" thread...

*thinking more*
*generating plot*

If this continues, bandwidth goes up to sky! And CJ becomes a poor man. And AGS becomes shareware! And AGSers go crazy! And look at the AGSers map now: They start rebeling in cities all around the world! And cities fall! And End of world comes near! And big countries have to use nuclear and (bio)chemical weapons to slay rebelling masses! And nuclear winter comes! And we all die! Lock these threads already! Save the world!

*huh*

Actually, It's pretty good storyline for an adventure game.

It's funny, DS posts this thread, and at least two or three more "what's your favorite" threads pop up in defiance of this rule.

Stop it. All of you. Stop it now.

That's a fucking ridiculous idea, DarkStalkey. Until the posts actually become ridiculous, ala DG's "what's your favourite my ass" (or whatever it was) on EZBoard, there's absolutely no reason to lock threads.

In my defense, the whole point in writing the "The makers of my ass must like my ass" topic was to show how ridiculous the whole repetitive topic thing was.

I did the same thing with this thread:
http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=13172

But, I do think DarkStalkey and AGA are both right -- The posts do become ridiculous and it's obvious people are doing it on purpose. Posts like mine, despite the fact that they're showing how ridiculous the situation is, can lead to others doing it do -- then the situation goes overboard.

So please, no more of these repetitive topic threads -- Try and be original and creative when you post a topic.

I think I'll try post something to counter all this repetitive topic post madness.

I think the "what's your favorite appliance" one is great.
It's cute and funny without being stupid.
I can't think of any that are too silly to bother with , but then again I haven't seen that many to begin with so maybe I'm just confused because I'm new and there don't seem to be too many to me. *shrugs*
But yeah , I agree that if this continues too much , it'll be getting old real fast and apparently it's already getting on some people's nerves.  :o

" Kara, why did you dig this up? This is last weeks news." Sorry! I'm still new here , remember?  :-[  Plus , the thread seemed pretty new and I wanted to show what I thought about it. That's all. Sorry again.

I mean to say:

Surely, if a "what's your favourite" thread is boring, people won't post in it. Frequently repeated threads (like adventure games) are still fun for people new to the forums. Older members may have posted "Monkey Island" a hundred times, but newer members haven't and should be given the chance, I'd say.

Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

And replying you dig it up again... and me... and... Eeeer... Arghhhh!!!
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

The way I see it, people start those generic threads not beacuse they're actually interested in the results of the "survey", but because they just want to start a thread, and it's an easy and accepted way to start a thread.

If you look closer, most of the "what's your favourite colour"-threads are started by newbies. I guess it's their way of trying out what starting a thread is all about, using a non-controversial subject that everybody can relate to and take part of.

MOTAS

I was about to post "What is your favorite AGS plugin"

Just kidding ofcourse.

But I think the threads should be moderated on content - not title.

Just my 2 euro-cents.
