Yes, I live in the U.S. and we're horrendously uptight. Case in point: the Superbowl Halftime Show. Holy crap, any kids who happened to be watching the Superbowl Halftime Show (since it sucked anyway) saw a boob! Good god no, this is corrupting our children!

Howard Stern makes a damn good point on this issue. Europeans aren't this uptight. And they're not in any state of anarchy or "moral dillema" as George W. Bush might say. He also mentions the Levitra (Next-Gen Viagra) commercial and how it would be ten times harder to explain that to children instead of a tit.

I might be opening up a can of worms (and I swear I couldn't find a thread on this in this forum), but what do you guys think of this whole stupid issue?

I for one think it's ridiculous and really not a big deal at all.

It must be pretty boring in the world for that to get such 'coverage' it seems it's got more press than the game itself which was pretty good I heard.

Interesting point about the viagra commercial, also kids these days with all the email spam must be pretty used to seeing breasts.

They can show bombs blowing up and killing people but a breast is wrong. How did we get all mixed up this way, a breast is much more natural than a bomb.

that little gadget thingy around the nipple was pretty cool, looked like a ninja star.

It'll all blow over in a few days, it was just a publicity stunt, might have also been to take a little bit of attention off her brother too.

I just wonder what the next stunt will be and who it will involve, might make a good photoshop phriday

I think everybody here gets enough LEvitra in their e-mails, so there's no need to explain.
And about the whole America(ns) thing. Well, history has been well to them, as well as their geo. position. They've been isolated from most of the big wars, and if you look better there's, you can see that they almost never had a war on their territory...
That's for one, and now i would like to talk about stupid and fat americans, and commercials, and their need of eating while watching TV, and all...
But i won't...

secondly, that website is pretty awkward and silly. "Howard said, then he said, then he said then they laughed and he (Howard) said this!" argh just listen to the show! [but please don't]

third: it's a tit, big whoop. This country [the US] is full of jerks and idiots just like every other country and since a jerk isn't universal [as in one man's jerk is another man's freedom... fighter?] everyone's a jerk. If you get all up in arms about this you're a jerk for freaking out over something so small. If you don't get all up in arms about it you're a jerk for not caring about the moral decline of the country or something stupid like that.

Well, I didn't see the Superbowl, but here again I don't watch or even play football. But I did hear about the booby thing. The way I see it is alot of those little kids probably didn't WANT to see Janet's breast. Which means alot of upset kids and alot of upset parents.

I remember when I was little and I saw a boob for the first time I was upset.

While I'm not all freaky over this, I can understand why parents and little kids would be.

I was watching the Superbowl live, cos I am a NE Pats fan... Maybe itÂ´s because IÂ´m european, or maybe it is because I was half sleep (It was something like 2:30 when the boob stuff happened...) But I took no special attention.

The most suprising thing of the half time show was realising that Janet has actually a horrible boob.

And the next day... everybody was talking about... Why? I think it was out of place because if it was pretending to be artistic it resulted shabby, but nothing else.

Why now is Jason Timberlake pretending he didnÂ´t do it on purpose? And why is everybody crossifying justing when janed was dressed with a special bra whith that easy-to-remove-buttons (I donÂ´t know the English name)... Shit, she even had some special arrangement in his nipple (I canÂ´t believe that somebody would voluntarilly have tha in her breast as a piercing regularilly...)

Everything was intended, and now that couple of morons probably are having some laughs with all this.

I think Tim and DG are right. There's a lot more important stuff going on, and we have to hear about how boobs are somehow indecent and offensive. To be fair, there was a lot in the news about the CIA, but it's still quite sad that an exposed nipple gets almost as much coverage..

Well, the CIA thing began days before the Superbowl, and was debated over all last week. Or do you just mean the White House's (super double-dog-delayed) reaction to it? I guess people do talk more about the halftime show, but that won't last long. The initial shock will blow over soon (god I hope so), and we'll hear more about real news.

It has just been blown out of proportions because all kinds of politicians/preachers/feminists/worried mothers/etc. decided to become all righteous and protest against the source of corruption in the nation. I think you have to go down the continent to find complete liberalism on this issue. Like France and Italy; they would never make a fuzz about it.
Here in Sweden it would cause some debating I guess, although it wouldn't reach the level of high politicians going moralising and talking about saving the children or whatever.

The debate is interesting, nevertheless. In a pedagogical view, one might have a thing or two to say about objectifying and sexism and all that shit.

Bono can use the word fuck as an adjective on tv and radio, because it is a decriptive word. I would think that people would be more worried about that then a second of Janet Jackson's breast that a lot of people missed anyway.
