Who thinks Nicholas Cage is a bad actor?

Does anyone think that Nicholas Cage is a hideous actor? Every time I see him, I can't see the character he's playing, I see a guy acting. He can't play different types of people. he can't do accents, he can't display emotion, and he especially can't convincingly play a character that's clever.

So, anyone else agree?

You're right, but I never noticed. Looking back, I see now why National Treasure wasn't a much better movie. Come to think of it, the only redeeming quality was Riley.

Right with you. I hate Nick Cage. I had a dream about lighting his head on fire and I though it was pretty cool, but then I found out that he was going to play Ghost Rider in the upcoming movie. Very not cool.

But the important thing here in this relatively pointless thread: Kinoko, does this mean that you finally got internet hook up in your apartment?

Oh yeah. Had it since Wednesday. It's been great, doing the same things I do at work all day and having noone to talk to because none of my friends give a crap that they can talk to me now.

Can't say I've ever noticed about Nicholas Cage. I only remember seeing him in a few movies, though. They all seemed ok for what they were made to be. Except that war movie. That was pretentiousness extreme. But I don't think that was because of ol' Nick

I kind of enjoyed his efforts in Raising Arizona. From that on, can't say he's struck me as a good actor, no.
Can't say his skills are so much below ordinary Hollywood standards that it deserves a thread, but hey

I guess, thinking about it, he is a fairly ... limited actor. Kind of like Sean Connery is always Sean Connery, regardless of who he's meant to be playing. However, I think he's an enjoyable presence (mostly true of Cage and Connery, but here I meant Cage). There are some 'better' actors that I just want to punch in the face for the first five minutes they're on screen (after that, I want to punch myself in the face for not turning over faster), but I quite like Nicolas Cage.

And, was there some specific reason for posting this here & now, or just general venting?

Nicholas Cage is playing Johnny Blaze??? What friggin' MORON dreamed that up!!! I had every issue of both the old and new Ghost Riders, and he is NEITHER of them!!! Ohh, I think I'm gonna be sick....

EDIT: Ash, now that I hear about it, I bet Kinoko posted this because he'd just heard the bad news, too.... :'(

Nicholas Cage is an awfukll actor! I hate him, but I do adore his taste in picking the right movies. Or is it his agent? He seems uncapable of playing any role...

Edit after Farlander: Agreed, but Tom had Nikol Kidman and now has Penelope Cruise... That's a plus to him! And anyway this topic is for Nicholas Cage who sucks (also Tom Cruise)get out of here!

It's not so much that he's so much worse than a lot of other actors, but the fact that he gets so much praise for what I don't think is there.

I don't think I could ever, being a male, judge another man of being sexy. How do you difine sexy in the male human being. I can tell you about females (boobs, ash, etc. etc, not exacty but for the shake of argument), but for male. Let me know Vince, so I can judge for myself.

Anyway, I find dear Nicholas very usefull when I try to feed my kid. I bring a picture sasying to my son that if he doesn't eat his lunch the bougy man will come and get him. It works!

Well I have to say that personaly I look more like Nicholas and not like Tom, cause I'm 1.94m and BIG and heavy and slow and with a bass voice and all. I have nothing delicate on me! That's the only reasons I won't have Katie tonight...
