Driving school students are the worst drivers.
That's hardly fair. First of all they're not technically drivers since they're just learning, that's almost like saying you're a doctor when you're a freshman. Those cars have double pedal sets and they have a big sign that says they're learners so basically it's other drivers that should be careful and even help them out (like letting them change lanes etc.).

When I was learning to drive (4th or 5th hour of actual driving), one time I couldn't enter the crossing cause of the traffic. I was well on the pedestrian crossing, almost passed it. Then a woman driving a bicycle with a dog leash tied to the handlebars goes in front of me (instead of behind the car)  in a rush and I hit her (well more of a push than a hit, she didn't get hurt or anything because the car was starting to move). After I manage to turn into a pretty empty street and like 100m later a guy gains on me stops his car so I can't pass, gets out of the car and starts to yell at me for not entering the crossing sooner. My driving instructor saw the guy was an ass and just told me to forget about it.
That was a f***ed up day, I can tell you that.  ::)

The cars of driving students are clearly marked - that means YOU have to be more careful. Everybody had to learn it and it takes plenty of miles before you can say you got good at driving.

What you're saying is true, Anian. It sucks when people get mad at students who are just learning. What I'm saying is also a cold hard fact: They just started learning to drive -> They're bad drivers. It's logical! \o/

Is it true that you don't need to write a test to get your license there?  Just hand over some rupees and you now have a shiny new drivers license.  So I've been told.

Babar

Hahahaha....who is your inside man?

I wouldn't really know, Ryan. I don't think there is a written test. As far as I go, he just asked me a couple of questions about road signs and stuff. Maybe I subconsciously handed him a few more rupees than necessary, and he made it easy for me? :D

In your  own opinion, who are the worst drivers in the world?

Women.

Privateer Puddin'

I thought French drivers after our little road trip for mittens 08, but I was in Italy lately.. yeah, road markings are purely decoration there.

Sam.

The biggest problem with French drivers, and from what I have seen, Italians, is that they all follow a set of rules, that are known to all of them, not outlined in any legal code, and I cannot seem to learn. They are all safe, they only become bad or dangerous when an outsider upsets the status quo.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

Funnily enough, a recent US study concluded that women were slightly better drivers then men.

I strongly suspect that the people conducting the study were all doing their makeup and texting on cell phones instead of actually tabulating data.

Nikolas

I'll extend CJs idea and then start getting flamed on my comment: Women drivers in Arabic countries that wear burcas!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Guys you've never been to Egypt, or Syria or other eastern countries to understand the meaning of "bad driver". Honestly...

m0ds

People who do 40 in a 30 zone and continue to do 40 in a 60 zone.

These are the drivers I'd love to ram off the road!

People who Post to much are the worst Drivers.

edit: You just signed up here and have 20 posts. Take A Break...

Yes, I am in a Bad Mood.

Just wanted to apologize for sounding like a major ass in that post.

The worst drivers, well I seem to drive with them every day.  I take a major route (highway) to work back and forth and I have seen so many bad drivers it is not even funny.  Semi-Truck Drivers, Tailgaters, People with excessive speed, people switching lanes constantly weaving in and out of traffic, etc.

I had this one guy try to smash into my car and drive me off the road because I had to panic brake to avoid hitting the cars in front of me in direct sunlight. I could barely see in front of me, and this asshole behind me starts honking his horn relentlessly, then proceeds to try and smash me off the Highway...But Luckily, I swerved in time (onto the shoulder).

The speed limit on the I-290 that I drive is 55 MPH, but I usually do 60-65 and leave plenty of room in front of me. I am a defensive driver.

Been driving for 20 years and still don't like it.

That was a video that I took while driving to get my lunch. Enjoy.  :)

Buckethead

Domino dude! That video was no fun. I atleast expected some near fatal excidents to happen in it.  :=

But I think some drivers in US are quite awfull. I hear that it's pretty easy to get a lincense there.

Arboris

Witnessed too many 'close calls' in traffic lately. Last week I was driving on an 80km/h lane when on to other lane all of the sudden one of those damn 40 km/h cars gets on the road without looking or turning signal or anything. A car behind him had to do an emergancy brake and almost hit it that damn scoot mobile in the back. Think that poor guy almost had a heart attack.

What part of "red means stop" didn't he understand in driving school?

Whats with those things?  Like what's their purpose? I've never once seen anything like that in Canada.
I also seen on youtube a video of a pole that raises from the ground to stop traffic.  Insane and sometimes deadly devices to stop traffic.
Why not just an arm that lowers down?  It's much less damaging to a car.

Odd.

Arboris

Those are bollards. The one you mention are meant to keep unauthorized people out of things like buslanes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_Cw0QJU8ro

Like here you can see people not getting the clue DO NOT ENTER (especially the first car who even stands in front of the raised bollards). And it serves them right. There are enough warning signs around that these devices raise from the ground and you should not enter if you're not authorized.

From my experience and what I hear, New Mexico and California are extreme opposites in what their drivers are known for.  And California is known for having really good drivers.

Trent R

Not if you go to Utah. Utahns hate Cali-drivers (but everyone else in the West US hates Utahn drivers)
