more wood objects for theÃ,  woodsmith to make twelve pieces of eight i already gave the woodsmith the plank near the east end of the screen and the stick that was in the crate on the north screen and in my inventory i have eight pices of eight and a a libery id card as well as a knife and a box of matches

How can I get past the rat on the north screen? I have 8 pieces of eight (I've sold the plank and the nails), a knife and a matchbox.
