Hi, can anyone please help with this problem?

Spoiler
when I have the Baron out of the way to pick up his 1st Edition book, the book does not appear in my inventory.
[close]

Crap, this is definitely a bug.  I didn't account for the scenario that someone would dispense with the baron before swapping the book.  I'll fix this and post the updated version.  (Don't redownload, though, as the current version should work fine as long as you swap the book first.)

Great game, absolut fun! God, I've been playing since yesterday and can't concentrate on anything else! But please, just a hint on the racket issue.I've painted the shotput green but when i destroy the net and grab the rackets, they always stop me before i go out the door! :( what I'm doing wrong?

jane

Spoiler
you need to swap the tennis ball with something you have in your possession before you take the rackets[\hide]

Hi, can anyone please tell me how long the yodel competition lasts for? When I compete I cannot do anything and have to exit from the game.

Its like the game freezes - I cannot perform any action.

I thought I had tried that  ::)

Joyce

Ida, you are sure having your share of problems with this game aren't you, I think you must be jinxed LOL. The yodel contest was straight forward for me. I had one little bug with this game but it was very minor.

jane

I had a couple of probs too but found if I went back and did things in a different order it worked.  Hope you manage to complete it

* So the Lights Out puzzle (intended as a spoof of "The 7th Guest") has apparently sucked beyond all anticipation.Ã,  I would love your suggestions on what to do with it.Ã,  Possibilities include:

1. Eliminating it entirely.
2. Keeping it in, but providing an insta-solve feature.
3. Letting the player automatically win after a certain number of attempts/clicks/time.
Do not remove the puzzle! It's extremely fun, the only problem is that I had no idea what to do. Just make it clearer what you're supposed to do. I spent over a half an hour on it, trying to turn all the lights on, when it didn't show any clues (that I saw) of what to actually do. I thought of either all lights on, all lights off or making the lights that are on off and vice versa...

Great suggestion.  I've updated the puzzle so that the player wins if the lights are either all on or all off.  Thanks!

And Greg maybe you can spilt the zip file so  we have only download the new dusseldorf.exe

I think the speech and music are not change so we don.t have to download 118 mb extra again

Can do.  Personally, I don't think a re-download is necessary, as most of the changes I've been making are pretty minor.  If anyone wants a copy of the most recent .exe, though, message me, and I can get one to you.  (Note that save games from a prior version won't work on a newer one.)  Thanks!

How do you get the geyser going?

Anyone?

Spoiler
We currently have the rhino horn, full gasoline can, ninja star, and the Baron's coffee (among other things).

Nevermind about the geyser... Ã, I just figured it out.

For anyone else who may be stuck at this point...
Spoiler
Put the spraypaint in the pipe where the turtles are, then hit it with the ninja star.

Not sure if I'm just missing something bc I don't have sound but during my conversation w/the big face in the shed right at the beginning, he says: Speaking of me... and then I can't move or do anything?  Am I just being impatient or is this a bug?

Apparently, the script waits for a given music file to play, so, if you had no sound card or had disabled background music, it would wait forever.  I fixed this in the most recent version.

Hmmmmm....maybe there's something else I should be doing...

Spoiler
I KNOW that I need a stronger sound to cause avalanche but can't get back into lady's shop. I have won the contest and got the certificate for the coat and I also have the stilts but NOW I can't get into the furrier shop!!!
[close]

HELP!!! (LOL)

I'm not sure how....

Spoiler
to get the stilts. I think I've done just about everything else in this town, but I can't get them to complete the yeti costume. I've drugged the herring, but I can't pick them up with my bare hands, for whatever dumb reason. I also have exhausted all conversation with the receptionist and I can no longer speak to her. (I presumed that I had to pick up the stilt man's package and hand it to him so that he would be appeased, but it doesn't look that way.) I've won the contest and have jaws and yeti coat.

Any help?
