Kings quest - catching the eagle!

PLEASE help me, im going insane;

I know im supposed to jump up and catch onto the eagle so that it carrys me to the mushroom, but everytime i click on it as it flys by, it 'looks' like i get it exactly, but it doesn pick me up. Is there another buttom im supossed to press to latch onto it ? Or is there a specific spot i should stand in ? Please help, ive been at this for an age now!

I did a search for you because I remembered giving this link to somebody else with the same problem, click on Tricky Tasks catching the condor and it  will show you a picture of exactly where you have to stand, good luck

Just to bump...err....hjälp.
How do you catch that ruddy condor. Any clues on where and when to click?
My bloke is in the right place and he jumps and overlaps the condor but doesn't grab it....

This is how to grab the bird it's paws:

Go to the center of the screen where two small rocks are on the ground.
Use the hand over the opening of the cave and when the bird is coming down, click to jump to grab it’s paws and when done right, the bird will take you for a flight.

You might have to repeat the jump a few times before the bird will take you.
After a few passes you might want to walk to the south and enter the screen again to make the bird appear again.

All the guides make a point of where to stand but not where and when to click, the cave does it.
