Nick it & Run!

Hi, been playing Nick it & Run! for ages now and I'm trying to work out how to get the coin out of the fountain, in the park where Marty is. I have the string cut and tied to the stick, but I can't seem to use it for anything!

I'm stuck in the same spot.  I think probably we have to get the hairpin from  Obby but I haven't figured out to how to do that.  Also I have found a bug.  You can pick up the metal pole beside Reggie but it disappears in your inventory and the mint appears instead.

I got the CD and the shard of glass. I've been to all ther places in the map but can't figure out anything else to do. What do I do next?

every fishing rod needs a hook, doesn't it? Obby's hairpin is NOT the hook, but I'll be essential in finding it.

What did Obby say when you picked up her lucky kangaroo? "DO NOT LEAVE IT LAYING AROUND!!!", remember? - maybe she means you shouldn't move it around the room too much.

BTW thanks a lot for the bug. I'll try & fix it over the wkd and I'll have it posted by monday if I can. You DO need the metal bar, but it only comes in handy at the end of the game, you probably still have a fair way to go

Sorry, but I couldn't pick up the metal pole until I worked out the puzzle properly (Reggie ends up giving it to you, there shouldn't be such command as "pick up metal bar"). Also, it came up as a metal pole on my inventory. I don't know what's exactly wrong, but it doesn't seem like a bug to me. Could you specify a bit more?

P.S. One thing I have found is that sometimes when the game loads, it "forgets" about stuff, and then when you load it again it works fine. Has anyone had that problem? Would you mind checking for me if re-starting the game again you get the same problem?

I'm stuck at the very end.  How do I steal the Stan?

I have the elixir and the passport with the picture on it.  When I try to enter Transylvania I am told I need the Stan.  How do I get it.  I've used the metal pole in the storage room so now I have access to the vent to the HOF.  So how do I get rid of all the people so I can steal Stan.  I have the matches so I am assuming I should create a diversionary fire??

Still, as you guessed, you could finish the game just by not picking up the metal bar.

My first question is, if this is the *spoiler* forum, why do we have to hide our spoiler questions and answers?

My second question is, I grabbed the pole right away and it changed into the mintie.  I'm pretty far along in the game, I think, so I'm worried.  Do I need to start over and not grab the pole at first?  Am I going to need the pole?  Also, I have the picture, how do I make it into a passport?

Cool game.  I'm enjoying it.

I think hiding text has to do with the fact that other people might not want to see the answer to a puzzle they haven't come across yet. They might want to give it a try before they accidentally read the answer elsewhere.

Your question: although the bug is fixed now, and I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, the answer is yes, you'll have to start again (it's not that long a game, is it?).

With respect to your third question:

A photo alone does not make a passport, does it?
You need to combine it with some sort of passport-looking item.
Have you had a look at the newspaper?
Do you have anything to stick the sample passport to your picture?

Hmmm, I'll have to go find a paper and something sticky.  And can you give me a hint where in the heck is that elixir, how I can get Balboa to notice the girl so the pressure will be taken off the Blues Brothers, and what the heck does Marty want.
