Spoiler
Someone posted a walkthrough in the hint thread, or maybe this one. You should use the bucket of food.

Not here; I was truly stuck - didn't get the star fish bit.
Look at http://gamesolutions.efzeven.nl/once-upon-a-crime-walkthrough-bjorn-ghost-ludwig2008/

Hm, I'm stuck...

In the inventory I have
Spoiler
PI badge, sample glass, fingerprint powder, comb, spatula, fuse, pillowcase, cherry pie.
[close]

I have
Spoiler
won Mr Smee's game and ordered a cocktail (Hook has gone downstairs to make it), put molasses on the rock, talked to the pigs, Granny Smith and Neptune.
[close]

I don't seem to be able to do anything yet with
Spoiler
the rotten stone in the graveyard or the egg outside the tavern.
[close]

Thanks for any tips (no direct answers, please).

OneDollar

Paolo, vauge hint:
Spoiler
"Cherry bomb"
[close]
and another
Spoiler
Where might you find a fuse?

Spoiler
That's because you can't

paolo

Thanks, OneDollar. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that helps very much...

Spoiler
I already have the fuse. Why would I want to make a "cherry bomb"? I haven't done anything that suggests I would need one.

There are a few things that are not suggested but you still have to do. On the other hand... there are a few things suggested that you don't need to do...  :D
This one is not suggested but hey... it's an adventure. Try the things that are not obvious just for fun. Or to get further in the game.

There's another one coming up in the game. Not suggested but needed to get further.

Poke the oven, run Forrest run.
Poke the oven becuz it's fun.
Poke the oven, excuse my pun.
Poke the oven. Poke the oven. POOOOOke the oven.

I'm not the best songwriter, I'll admit.

Kind of like "try everything on everything", then? Hm, that's not what I'd call fun. Oh well, I'll try that. Thanks for the hint. And thanks to Crazy, too.

Paolo:

Spoiler
be reassured, that is the only puzzle in OUAC which I solved using a "brute force" method.

paolo

Yay, I got there in the end!

Leon

Actually, there are two:

Spoiler
The starfish becomes royal
[close]
That one is a bit easier because it's an automated proces. But not mentioned anywhere.

Spoiler
I can only go to the crime scene and Geppetto's house... WHERE/HOW the hell can I go anywhere else?! this is soooooo freaking confusing! I've been playing this game for WEEKS now and I STILL can't figure that one out!

Have you...

Spoiler

* spoken to the tin soldier?
* opened the parcel?
* done the things that investigators usually do at a crime scene?
[close]

vertigoaddict

Yes, I've talked to everyone in those two areas

Spoiler
I tried getting a sample of strawberry jam if that's what you mean, but the tin soldier is way against it... should I use the pie on the strawberry jam to test the tin soldiers denial or something?

For weeks? It's been out that long?  ;D
Spoiler
In OUAC you learn where new locations are when they are mentioned. To be blunt, talk to everybody ;)

Edit: I think Paolo put it down nicely.

Spoiler

You can't do anything at the crime scene until you have the tin soldier's permission - presumably you've shown him your PI badge, or else you wouldn't have been able to get to the scene in the first place.

Have you used the fingerprint powder? This will reveal a suspect, who you can then go and investigate.

@Ghost

Sometimes when you get fustrated it feels like a whole 3 days have gone by, at least to me (I was exagurating obviously ^_6)

@Paolo and Ghost

Thank you, I get it now (*.*)

paolo

Regarding...

Spoiler
getting the fairy dust - I did this wrong first time round, and then reloaded a saved game and did it right the second time. But if I hadn't had that saved game, would there have been a way of getting the dust that was spilled? Presumably there is, because you can put down something to catch it...
[close]

Ah, I see how it can be done. Nice - a puzzle that you can solve in two slightly different ways.

Glad you figured it out, and I was not exactly serious  ;D What would a game be without at least one "Ooooo that was so obvious!!!!" moment?

@Paolo: Only one way to solve it, but forgivingly, unlimited tries by simple resets. No puzzle can be brought into a state where you need to reload.

Marion

Hi !
I followed the walkthrough, I have to give the starfish to Granny but I can't. I gave her all the others ingredients but the starfish doesn't seem to be correct. Do I need to do something special with it before ?

Leon

If you followed mine it says:

Spoiler
Now only the crown. Go back to Lake Molasses.

Lake Molasses:

Oops. You have a DRIED-UP STARFISH now. It looks like a sort of crown. And remember Granny not seeing that well? Let's just give it a try. Go to Granny.
