I had the black pawn attach the rope to the fish first.
How do I attach the wax?

You'll need to pass the fish and wax up to the white pawn. Go to the desert as white pawn, (right of house) to melt the wax.

I've got the wax melted but neither of the pawns can attach the wax to the fish. Is that because I foolishly tied the fish to the string first?

Only the white pawn can use the melted wax on the fish+string. Note the wax hardens again if you drop it into the water.

Aha, looks like I need a trip to the desert again...

*growl* I'm stuck on the pawn puzzle in the cave (example 7) I can't manage it in 10 moves. I need to capture with the queen (2 moves) then move across the board with the pawn (another 5) then move the resulting knight to the coin (4 moves). What am I missing?

Hi there

I know Fisher said the the woodworm game is trial and error, but I have been at it a whole afternoon, and I've just about had enough.  I just CAN'T do this puzzle no matter which tactic I try.  Can someone pleaseee give me chess board directions, so I can complete this woodworm game.  I am a chess player and can understand  board shorthand (c6 b2 etc etc), If you put it this way for me, I'll be able to understand it and be able to pass this puzzle.  OR if there's any cheats to get me past it, that will do.

Okay I FINALLY Passed the woodworm puzzle and am now ( as black pawn) ready to go in and see the King (for badge etc).  However, after passing all the other pieces puzzles they set me, I CAN'T manage the queens puzzle, to capture ALL the pieces to get the (one) coin.  This is totally impossible.  First you HAVE to take the white queen (with your black Knight.........your one and only piece to play with), after that you are supposed to capture two  white rooks and two bishops.

This is totally impossible, no move you can make without getting captured is of any use whatsoever.

Please, Please, send me through a spoiler to get me passed this puzzle, so I can go in and finally see the king.  This puzzle is NOT trial and error, there MUST be a solution.
