Now I need help on how to improve them. My character is terrible so that needs to most help . C&C Please.

Really good!!!

Some nitpicking still:

Good - The shading on the blue chair. Gives it real depth.
Good - The floor in the 1st room. I love the floor!
Bad - The outline is a bit "dirty". A few stray pixels.
Bad - The armrests on the chair look weird. They don't look like they have the same angle.
Bad - Perspective of the piece of paper on the desk. (I'm REALLY picky )
Bad - Should there not be some shade on the front of the desk?
Bad - Confused about lightsource and shadows. example: I assume the shadow on the door (1st room) is from the closet, but should there not be shadow on the wall between them?
Bad - The door needs a bit more depth.
Bad - The doors in the two rooms are different sizes, but I guess you knew that.
Good - The nail the picture hangs on! (I guess the picture hangs by a steel wire and not a piece of string?)
Good - Perspective! Good choice. (On pic2 the viewpoint is a bit high, but you have yet to establish a mood in the room, so I won't say if it's bad or not until you're finished. AND THEN IT'S TOO LATE!!!! )
Bad - Something outside the window on the door?
Question - Why does the bin have just yellow paper in it (if that is the bin, and that is yellow paper) when all the other paper in the room is white? Is it a central part of the plot that they throw away all the yellow paper one day and switch to white? (No, no... just a joke )

I make it sound really bad, don't I? But as I said in the beginning, it's only nitpicking, and I love it! It's great! Absolutely!

(Oh, and maybe the "recycling"-logo on the blue bin is a bit too white. It's in the shadow of the closet, and it's really distracting so close to the surface of the desk. And as all adventure-gamers know, the surface of the desk is a VERY important area )


So... The Dude...

Really nice look. Here's what's bad:
- He's a bit crosseyed.
- He has a grey sausage around his neck.
- I think the neck is too thick.
- The shadow/sweatstain on his back is too big.
- Arms are well drawn, but maybe a bit short? Hard to see from a straight on view...
- The dark line around the hair should IMO be not quite so dark.
- Depending on how you want him to look you could give him som hips, perhaps...

You can check out when loominous fixed my character to get some tips.

(hips rhyme with tips, good message structure...)

But, again, GREAT work!

Detail is nothing, style is everything!

thanks, I like ppl who can pick out the problems. The bin, cabinet, desk and room layout were created by Brusied (Room 1) and the tiles were created by Wanderlady. I didn't put anything outside the room because basically, I don't know where it leads to, it's a mystery.

I'll have a go at fixing the problems and I'm considering remaking everything in flash (Flash rules!)

The backgrounds are 640x480 yeh, so isnt the character a little small for those backgrounds. Other than that great art keep it up, oh and flash kicks ass yes ... but dont re-do the bg's in flash you'll lose your unique style.

For the character, I was going to import him at 320x200, thus doubling the size. And my style really isn't that unique...

did some tweaks. couldn't make that collar/sausage thing work either, so I focused on anatomy. (Didn't say I was any good or anything...)
tweaked his shoulders (wider), neck (thinner, shorter), head (thinner, shorter)... I don't know... maybe I ended up with a totally different character.

I would like to learn to use flash properly... Sometime...

EDIT: f***ed up the image... theese are the right colors... oh, and raven, get on IRC.
