It would be usefull (and I hope it's simple to impliment it) to add in the room editor an eraser tool.
It will make it much more easy than using strait lines  :)

why when you can use masks?

Alex Lowes

Sorry I am a newbie (still) .
so I don't know what a mask is.
But why not have an earaser??

scotch

Just being able to set the size of the brush tool to greater than 1 pixel would do it, painting with that in colour 0 is the same as erasing

Alex Lowes

Understood :)
so how do you make the brush size bigger?
wait a minute hmm..
you don't have a brush tool!:)
thanks

Ishmael

Yes you do, the freehand. You just can't make it bigger...
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

So let's change the topic to:
Make the free hand bigger so it can act like an earaser,or even better:
Have ready made shapes for the brush(like big/medime/small squer,circle,etc...) ???

I gotta second that....anyway Chris is too busy running around with my wife. Don't act all innocent Chris, I've got pictures dude...

Well, all masks can be drawn in a paint program and be imported into AGS. These programs offer all stuff like zoom, shapes, brush sizes and more.

Yes, Chris can spend his time in coding such stuff again, so that it is inside AGS. On the other hand I think it's ok, that Chris spends his time in implementing features into AGS that can't be done with other programs. If the bug and feature list ever gets empty then ...  ::)

Yeah, I appreciate that the area drawing tools are rather poor, but they're only designed for minor touch-ups and basic editing - you're really expected to draw the walkable mask in a seperate paint program using layers and so forth.

CB..

AGS is fantastic , i being a newbie, am just using the in built paint tools to draw the regions hot spots etc it's fine apart from two of the regions (4 and 7 i think?) are both red which can get a bit confusing...tho i'd love it if the region colours were semi transparant so i can double check whats underneath makes life hard if i have a large region on the room somtimes..but this would not be a priority i must admit!!
many thanks for a great programme !

An opacity level, or just a standard 50 percent opacity level would actually be pretty nice.

- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

or perhaps if only the currently selected region was displayed on the editor screen so yu could cycle thru the regions
then add a view all user regions check box to see them all at the same time ?
might just about do the same job and be easier to implement..?
any good?

Pumaman

I did implement 50% transparency at one point, but it was painfully slow.

Just displaying the current area is a good idea, something that has been suggested in the past. I'll make sure it's on my list.

Gilbert

Yeah, moreover just displaying one area one time solves the problem of distinguishing different areas with the limited colours (ie easier to increase the limits). I'll suggest also (as I suggested before) an option to display the current selected area in one colour and the others ALL in ONE other colour (eg. gray), this way you can have sort of a guide so as not to cover up the other areas with the current colour say for example.
