Hello again laddies

I've made this walking sprite,
again I want to thank fruittree who's currently helping poor people in (africa?) for the inspiration

here it is

LIke I said in #AGS I think it looks great.  It's perfect as it is..  however, if you wanted to make it more dynamic-feeling, you could add some hair sway or a slouching effect as he "bounces."  Currently, he's a tad stiff but that could be a good thing if it's how you want 'im.

The only little thing that bugs me is that he has hardly any chin. Maybe give him a pixel more in that area?

This is, of course, a generalisation and is meant as such.

Ok, onto my little note on mannerism. It is often said that gay men walk with their hands like your sprite does. E.g. thumbs pointed at the body, and you can only see the side of the hands when you look at them from the side. I'm not quite sure I'm expressing myself in sufficient English, but well.

Straight guys, however, walk with their hands flat, when you view them from the side. So, their thumbs point forward.

So, to my eyes, your character looks a bit "gay". If that is the look you want for this punky fellow, then please, keep it.

This has been my "Gee, wow" comment for the month.

On to constructive criticism

Try animating him against another color, since his t-shirt is almost white, it is kinda funny looking.  The only other thing (besides already commented on) is that I think his knees need to be shaded a little more.  Unless they are skin tight, the jeans would cast a shadow onto his knees, causing them to be darker than his hands, for example.

N3T: I think the walk cycle is looking very good. I think the sprite's colors are a little bright though.

It may just be me... but his back pocket shows up just a bit to much... either that or his buttcheek swings oddly to the side as he walks... 1 maybe 2 pixels wider is all I would make it... as it stands now it nearly looks like you are seeing that part of his body from behind...

Its a nice walk cycle n3tty but it  looks a bit like he's doing ballet.

Hobbes is right, its the hands. They shouldn't lead with the wrist like that, unless its ballet or something.

I think most guys go around with thier hands in thier pockets or making a loose fist. At least the fingers aren't outstreched.

And his hips are swivelling a bit too much.  ._.

the character is most definitly not gay

so I guess I'll have to change that, as well as the butt-pocket, I noticed it too now

the only thing that i would ask is does he have a definate personality that could be portrayed through the walk?

it's just a normal walking cycle now and if he's some hardcore punker who could give two shits maybe his walk would be different

Yeah, I gotta say I agree with Hobbes on the hands, maybe try a loose fist or something like that, but over all, its a great sprite, i like the way he turns a little to each side
