Requests for actors are usally posted in the Games in Production board, you might want to check there.

I know that Erwin_Br's game 'Bad Timing' is looking for voice volunteers at the moment...

You could also record some lines of you doing some characters and post them, people are much more likely to contact you about doing voices if they know what you sound like.

And when you do, use different kinds of characteritics and accents for example a 15 year old american school guy, a 25 year old aussie surfing dude, old grumpy scottish, kids etc. The more kinds of characters and accents you use more can search you out as a voice actor because you can do many kind of voices.

Yeah, sure. A voicecase would surely come in handy. Jay contacted me a few months ago, regarding RF... So let's hear a voicecase first.

oh and jannar i'm sorry for not getting back to you for so long. all of a sudden i had a bit of a job that took more time than i liked, and then i tried starting a music career. (see www.jasonvertucio.com) the music thing is only VERY SLOWLY happening, so i got a lot of time to kill during the day, ya know?

anyways, help me out with how to prepare a showcase of voices. i mean... ya know?

.........(edit)............ oh gee that didn't sound too rude, did it?

make some sounds of lines to speak and publish them to us. For example this

#1 - "Don't you just stand there! Pick up my suitcase, you little prick!" (a very rich, selfish male around 40 years, who speaks against his slave)

#2 - "With my experience with girls, is milking cows a piece a cake!" (wacky teenage boy, with big mouth, and thinks all day only on sex)

#3 - "Back in the old days, people had manners" (depressive, slow, sarcastic. An old lady about 80 years)

record these 3 lines, put them in a *.zip for example, and show them here.... so we get an impression of your skill ;)

i love replying to every other msg. ;D anyways . . . i'm kinda 25, so my voice isn't great as older people, if ya know what i mean . . . i'll get something together on wednesday . . . . . .

but come on! give me more of a challenge! but ho just for fun i should do all these lines exactly as you DIDN'T tell me to . . . ;)

i'll get some samples out if i knew what people were looking for . . . that would be fun too . . .

Why not mimicing voices of characters from adventure games, cartoons or movies? I suggest that you could try mimic some character's voices can give you some experience. How about those for a challenge?

Dr. Fred, from Day of the Tentacle: Thank god you weren't that stupid! (quick pause) Did you say BERNARD???

Glottis, from Grim Fandango: Me? Ha! No! No, no, no. I don't ride 'em, just WRENCH them.

Murray, from The Curse of Monkey Island: Alright then, ROLL! ROLL through the gates of hell! Must do you make fun of everything?

Max, from Sam & Max: Hit the Road: Oh! Does this mean I get to kick puff whitey mad scientist butt?

Jay V

um........ against your suggestions of doing voices from already established games . . . i decided to go and steal other sources. I'll probably be making more when I'm not as bored as I was today and a few days ago . . . but I read a page from a magazine, quoted a monologue, and then reenacted a scene. Mind you, with completely different actors from the original . . . . .  so it's sort of like watching a play with different actors and stuff?

anyways, http://home.comcast.net/~jvertucio/voiceover . . . . have fun . . . .

Your voice rocks!! If you are still around, I will definatley ask you to be voiceactor for my game.

It would be faun out of the story "the lion witch, and the wardrobe". But that will take some months before I got that game done.

jannar85

Hmmm... Not quite what we (The Roger Foodbelly team) were looking for...
You can only do modern voices?

Whoa, you have a great voice. Young-sounding, yet professional as well. I'm sure I could find several roles for you in my game, "By the Sword." I have a full list of the characters, what they sound like, and other notes. The game won't be completed until the end of 2004, but I have already recruited several other AGSers (LGM, eVOVLE, Femme) for voice roles. I'll email you with the list soon.

The thing is, I can't pay anybody. LGM, eVOLVE and Femme are doing it for free. Sorry. :)

Which agser does pay out their actors anyway?

well i demand payment!!!!!!!  >:(

a case of gatorade would be fine. Or twenty-five dollars. Or a box of candy bars. Or five dollars would be fine. ;)

Anyway, there's a small showcase. But in order for me to consider a project, I was kinda hoping (and i didn't think about this until yesterday) to be sent an audition script, if you will.

So please PM me or post in this thread where I can gather more information. And I'm sorry, jannar, that I wasn't what you were looking for.

update

oh oh and for free is okay too . . . but i'd really prefer a box of candy bars to free ;)

Heh, no problem Jay. We're REALLY in need for a female voiceactor... :P

Great! :D Shortly, I'll be sending you a large list of male voices needed as well as several test lines (may not be in final game) for each. :)
