i have gotten the flower and mixed everything in a bowl, but the game says that i am missing two ingredients. where do i get salt and vinegar?

please help.

If you have the bowl then you already mixed the salt & vinegar.  You got the flower.  Did you get the lemon, too?  Did you use the objects ON the bowl?  Once you use those objects on the bowl, the solution should be ready.    

If it still doesn't work, you've run into a bug that neither me, the beta testers, nor anybody else has discovered.  Please let me know if that is the case.

Okay, seriously.  It's nowhere close to being complete.  I have it all planned out, I just have to sit down and write the thing.  I hope to finish it next year sometime.

where do i get the flower i tried using the flute where the dog and the artist are but i can't get any flowers.

You have to research it to know it's the right one to pick. As I recall, you can get a book from the library which you then use on the flowers. Of course, you need the recipe first.

Actually you have a lot of the other stuff in the kitchen. I don't recall if those two are all you need, but if they are, you should be able to mix the potion in your apartment.

I am stuck on the same part as alanh. I have read on other threads that you need a bowl to mix the ingredients in. Is this true ? Am I missing something really obvious ?

I just had another try and have found the bowl and finished this level.
Great game. Didn't quite see the logic on this last bit though. But as in all adnenture games, try evey item on everything if all fails!

Take the word 'Recipe' from the notebook, and click it on the kitchenette, put the lemon and flower in the bowl. put the bowl on the photo
