Ive got a problem with the player, when changing from room 1 to room 3 (going around a building and coming out on the other side(from left side to right side in the other room)) he wont walk in any other direction than to the left and he wont stop walking when you want him to go in any other direction. The same thing happened when I deleted room 3 and re-made it but then he walked to the right instead (he only wants to walk in one direction).

Does anyone know the problem I would appreciate your help very much!

Are you using the MoveCharacterBlocking function?  Or do you have the "Wait for move to finish" check box marked? This could explain why the character will not stop moving once it starts. You should use MoveCharacter or uncheck the "Wait for move to finish" box.

I use: "Player - Go to a different room at specific coordinates when Player is standing on a hotspot." And I dont use the MoveCharacterBlocking function.

Wait, which room does he keep walking on?  Room 1 or room 3?  Just to get it straight, is this what you're trying to do?:

Player starts on room 1
Player walks to the edge of room 1 (or to a specific point in room 1)
Player changes to room 3

...or are you doing something else?

Also, don't you have a hotspot with a walk-to point around? :P

j-Hed

It's in room 3 the player only walks to the right and he won't stop walking.

And I have no walk to point hotspot.

Use regions!! Character standing on hotspot is obsolete....

I tested that and it didnt make any difference!

Have you altered the main global script at all?
Can you upload that room3.crm file to look in?

j-Hed

Do you wan't me to mail the file room3.crm to you Scorpiorus?

Or how do I upload it? Im sorry for all this trouble... ;)

Ok, I've just looked in and found what's wrong. The horizontal part of a green walkable area you drawn is too thin for AGS. Make it thicker (something about 9-10 pixels would suit fine), like:

________10 pixels thickness __________|

Works?

THANX MAN!!!!!

But its strange because the walkable area is much thinner in room one and it works fine.

Sorry for all this fuzz but the demo of my game will be ready in a few weeks and I hope you'll like it.

Yes, I know. In regard to original walkable, I was able to make the character walk in a desirable direction by means of clicking on the walkable area itself. Clicking outside makes the character to walk in wrong direction for some reason, possibly because of specific shape of the area.

I liked the background graphics, btw. Good luck on your project! ;)
