Hey all, wouldn't it be cool if we had a chess tournament? We could play with one of the many programs or just chess notation. What do you think?

Darth Mandarb

I think I suck at Chess ... but it could be fun.

Inkoddi

I'm half good at chess.... I'm in
toot

shbaz

I've played since I was seven and I still suck at it but it's fun anyways. I'm in.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

Chicky

:( i suck at chess, but i could be a cheerleader

*goooooooooooooooo Inkoddi*

ok that sounded kinda gay  :-[

Domino

I haven't played chess in a long time.

I used to be pretty good at playing, but now, i'd just get my ass kicked.

There would be a long line of people waiting to play me.  :)

BG

LordHart

I'm average at chess, but I got no spare time, so I'm not in. :(

Moox

Im in, but my track team practices everyday so i need a time

How would we go about this necessarily, just find a time to meet and play, or play through the mail? I wouldn't mind playing a game or two. Time is the mot important issue, we would need people who have schedules that meet up, otherwise, if we do it by notation, it'll take two months for a game. I'm in, if we can figure out a solution.

I think that real time chess would be the best solution, with 30 mins for each to think. Right?

Andail_unplugged

real time is the better solution, or people would just cheat. I tell you, AGS:ers is one bunch of cheating people!
Cheaters!

I'm in, btw.

Minimi

I think pogo.com , is the best place to hold the tournament. I'm member of a chessclub, and I like chess really much ;)

no, whole game, d0h!! And when your flag falls, you lose

Vel

I dont think that it would be good if we used a web site or a java based client. Better to use one freeware chess program, don't you think?

Mr Jake

why not?   Im in, but Im fine with using a webclient, I dont want to download some freeware program really, enless its really good

MrColossal

the ags whiteboard has a chess game just so you know

I'm in, although I think sub-professionals very rarely need thirty minutes. I got GCSE mocks at the moment, but they'll be over by the end of the week.

So, whenever is good, I can probably play.

Migs

I only play chess games of 5 minutes or less, preferrably blitz (2 minutes).  30 minutes is way too boring.
