I'm trying some scripting stuff here at TAFE on the computers which are running XP, and AGS works fine, but when I try to test the game or even open the game from it's compiled folder, it doesn't seem to work properly.

Everything is seemingly running fine and it doesn't freeze or anything (i can tell because sound works when it starts and i can press Alt-X to execute the program and it says what line it closed on), but I just cannot see anything. Could anybody help me with this, as it's kinda annoying...

Sorry if this has been solved before or mentioned before, I did a search and couldn't find anything. :(

edit :: Just install the latest DirectX drivers, and it still doesn't work... :( Could the network be affecting it?

Probably some confilct with the graphic card driver, try setting up the game to run at windows mode and see if it runs. Alternatively, try setting yiour game to run under different resolutions (I mean the setup, not the default res) in case it's bacause of the monitor cant handle some of the resolutions.

LordHart

Tried all that. I've tried every resolution that the computer can handle and then tried, and also tried to run in Windowed mode. :(

Thanks though.

What colour depth is your game, and what colour depth is your desktop resolution?

LordHart

I'm at home at the moment, so I can't check... but I'm pretty sure that both the game and PC had a colour depth of 16 Bit, the PC might have been 32 Bit...

And I tried every resolution available.

LordHart

Got it working now... and it was the colour depth that was screwing it up, it was set at 32bit while the game was 16bit. Thanks CJ! :)

Hmm that's still strange though, running a 16-bit game with a 32-bit desktop should be possible (it's what I do). Might be something funny with the graphics card drivers.
