What are the best ways you guys have found to make sure you stick through to the end of a game and actualy make it?
I mean, I love this concept I have of multiple races, each with a different magic type, and weakness (one that can only case when still, one that has two personalities and needs them to agree) and I really want to make myself make this.

I have early char ideas worked out, getting to sprites shortly, many rooms worked out on paper, actual graphic files proceeding slowly, I even have the outline of the puzzles and plot all the way through, and am working on detailing the dialoge and etc.
(Yes, just me, and when i have some decent chunk there I will most likely look for team members)

I am working on at least the ideas and race/char concepts every day, although i have less computer time than i want work on the actualy digital stuff frequently.

anyway, sorry for the ramble, but this is a real question, and I really want to fully bring this to life. Thanks.

Stay away from the forums...and if you have to go here stick to the tech forums or the Critics lounge. Most of the people who release games don't spend too much time in the actual forum.

Other than that, plan ahead, and have a set amount of work you want to do each day.

Heh, I find that the people that do a banner for their game, or keep a log on a website, tend to finish their games because they dont want to look like an idiot canceling their games after they have pimped it for 4 months. The rest is up to you. Just keep working, if you're drawing a room and it looks like crap, dont stop, finish. All the more practice, and when its done you can look at it and say "I dont like this part...".

Follow these three simple steps to completing a game.

- Have a copy of Ace Quest handy at all times.
- Don't visit the forums more than once a day.
- Don't visit #ags on IRC, ever.

:)

dont visit the forums more than once a day:
I only visit them a few times a week
Don't go on irx anymore
and i am slowly creating the room graphics files, but have rough sketches, and i do work on it pretty much everyday.
Well thanks for the advice people, when i get this up and going i will let you know.
Thanks again
