This is my cave entrance, with a very *boring* cement sarcophagus in the foreground.

Do the two elements work together?

I really hope so because my characters are 2D also

yeah I noticed my mistake when I viewed the post

thanks

I think 2d characters may fit - somewhat - in a 3d bg world, but the sarcophagus doesn't IMO. Due mainly by the contrast in textures... If the textures of the 3d objects were more toony, or if the sarcophagus had a more elaborate texture it may work...

I like the image. The pespective is nice, sort of like looking out of a small opening in a mountian or something. You may want to rough out the edge of the opening maybe. Maybe add some texture to the (box?) as well. Other than that I like it.

Evil

It looks ok I guess. The "window" has no depth at all. It looks as if someone painted that on the wall. Your perspective on the table is off also. Where is the horzion line at? Get those things worked out and it will be fine.

Evil are you sure you posted on the right one???? thats not a window its a cave opening and thats defiantley not a table!!!! Its a sarcophagus and if your still confused...         Its a coffen  8)

coffin...

and when evil said "window" with quotes, he knew it wasnt really a window, but still a window doesnt have to be in the traditional sense, it could be used like "a window to another world" where no one really thinks of a kitchen window, but a gaping spiral hole to another dimension.

as far as the scene goes, I personally do not like it. in this case, i agree with ratracer, 2d chars or 3d chars on 3d backgrounds, but i wouldn't do half 2d/3d on backgrounds. at least, not this style
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.
