Has anyone figured out how to get to Jon's mother or how to get a ball of yarn for the one cat?  I already used the blanket on the gate in the alley and got the carboard leg.  I am totally stuck from there!!

Well, seems that the puzzle to get to mum's house was a hard one, but I got it from old cartoons like Looney Toons or Tom & Jerry (I feel pretty old now ).

Go to the road room (the one where the mutant dog was, you must have already gotten rid of the dog), do you see that there are cars passing by all the time? Well, you need to hitch a ride, but who's gonna pick a fat cat up? They'd prefer to pick a nice girl, so use the cardboard leg with the tree...

tvcooper, did you have the bug of Garfield getting stuck in some rooms? Please tell me if you did I am trying to fix it but I can't believe I'm the only one that has it working fine.

Kairus,   so glad to hear you are working on this.   I love the game and keep starting over and over again in the attempt to complete the game.      I  am experiencing the same problems that  redrum described in the other forum.   Most of the sticking occurs when the screen first opens.  Garfield takes only a few steps then sticks.    When he is "sticking",  I can Look at everything on screen,  but when I choose an action such as Give or Action,   then  even the menu will not pop up and I have to exit the game and restart.

I had Garfield stick in a couple of unusual places, too..... such in the top of the tree after dropping the substance on the bench.     He also stuck in the barn after I had made something and when  I  chose Walk to exit the barn.

If I try to play a saved game,  it will start sticking in more of the screens that I re-enter.     I have about 5 games saved that are sticking if sending to you would help.  I might need help.....  think that I can find the files that have the saved game data

I am needing some hints about getting beyond the last
place I was before my last "sticking"

I have completed the pipe puzzle, and given mother the soup ingredients.   What is meant by "have Jon or his girlfriend" drop me a line"?       Also,  when and where is the smoke bomb used?

Yes I have gotten stuck several times at the park, alley, tv station, home and most recently crossing the rocks at the river.  Most times when it gets "stuck" Garfield is making the walking motion but he does not move.  The only thing to do is restore.

Thanks - I was able to get to Jon's mother and get the ball of yarn......nice.

But now I am at the river (without the rocks) and cannot find anyway to cross over?  Thought I could use the string but no!  Any help???

Return to barn and make a thicker "string"  out of the straw.  Return and use it on branch over the stream.

    It took many, many, many attempts to solve the pipe puzzle.    I have completed the pipe puzzle,  but don't know what to do next.

     In case you are not sure of how to work the pipe puzzle, here are some hints:

connect from the source pipe down and over to the right to the connector/converter piece,  then swith to working with the red pipes and connect them over and up to  set A1  and  set A2.  When I could not use a pipe shape,  I would just place it in an empty, out of the way square

I have perservered with this game, put up with it freezing and constantly reloading it for days now.................but  must now admit defeat!   To solve the pipe puzzle and beat the clock at the same time is impossible!

Jane, I am in the same boat.  To come this far only to be defeated over a stupid pipe game.  If only you could slow everything down or could see the entire gid at once.....  Does anyone have a special technique for this? :'(

It almost wasn't that bad when it kept freezing - 'cos I couldn't do anything about it - but this puzzle makes me want to throw my laptop out the window  :'(

Wow... calm down, guys. I didn't think this puzzle was going to be that hard. Think about this:

* Not all pipe pieces appear in the same frequency. That is, you will probably try to avoid using the horizontal green one, as it somehow doesn't come up as frequently as it was supposed to.

* Remember that when you start over the puzzle the current pipe piece changes, this can help you find a quick first pipe to add next to the source so you don't loose immediately. Try to find a horizontal green one, which as said before are not too likely. From then on the other pieces have useful probabilities of coming, that doesn't mean they will all suit, but it shouldn't take too many tries to create a nice path.

* Keep in your memory the amount of clicks you must do in order to get from one side of the grid to another one so you can do it faster when the time comes. Keep also in mind where the correct exits from the grid are so as not to make a wrong path that you can't improve on time. (The right exits are SET A1 and SET A2, but I believe you noticed it ) I mean you should remember things like: "I have to add a horizontal red one to the east of the bifurcation and then a west-north elbow pipe next to it and then a lot of vertical pipes to the north until I find the exit".

* Don't expect for pieces to come in order, so in the previous example if you have a burst of eight vertical red pipes you should locate them in their right places and then when the other pieces come start connecting the rest of the path so it makes sense. Keeping in mind what it should look like in the end will help you locating the correct pieces in the correct places more quickly.

* Switch to the red pipes just as soon as you finish making a good green path to the bifurcation. You should finish the green path quickly to have enought time to make the other one.

I've used the scissors on the sealed box from fridge but everytime I 'action' it the game exits. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong.I don't seem to be able to 'action' anything at this point as everything I try exits the game

Aaaarrggggghhhhhhhh!   I finally managed to complete pipe puzzle............but then it freezes again! I thought never mind I had saved it..............but guess what..........everytime I load it and try to get out of room - yep it freezes.  

So do I try to complete the puzzle again in the hope that I can this time get out of the room?

Some people said they could avoid the getting stuck bug by uncrompessing the file again over the old folder. Try doing that while keeping your saved games and see if it works. That strange bug has never happened to me and I have no idea why it happens to other people

The only way I could get rid of the sticking bug was to delete everything and then reinstall! But also I think I knew what to do up to that point with the shortest number of moves - when I first started the game I was exploring!
Still having some problems with the pipe puzzle - do I just have to get from the source to set a1 & a2? Does it matter where they are? Although I think my biggest problem is the timing - just can't do it fast enough  :'(

the only way I could do it, was draw the grid out - 8 squares across by 10 down.  Then imagine where your pipes will go from source to A1 and A2...............then just go for it......worked for me the second time of trying it, just found you needed to get the correct pipe to strt of with at the beginning for a quicker start.............dump all the shapes you can't use in the spare squares...............don't forget there aren't many of the vertical large pipes so make sure you use them - stick them on the middle connector if the appear

Jane, after reading the hints listed here I still can't figure out this puzzle. Is the object to get from A1 to A2 and where is A1 and A2? Is it from right to left, top to bottom?  Its not like there is a hot spot that says A1 and A2. Help please, I've been at this for over an hour.

Desi, Believe it or not I was stuck at the pipe game since last July lol. The only way I could get past it was to use the saved game that was posted here.
