Last night was scary
jogging homewards, the broad and endless street to my home
and in the midnight mist were lights of blue and red
and sterile white

and automobiles of different sorts
and orange men, trying to open the distorted metal
- that once was a person's car

and an immobile mass of people
as still as in police quest, standing silently, with stretched necks
once I was the officer, questioning them (you remember?)
now I run by, because nothing beats a midnight run, even when
you're drunk.

Someone was wounded, dunno if he's dead
and I'm just hung over

Happy easter

??? I'm really suprised that no one tried to help him....or on PQ where no one called the police...kinda dumb.

Evil

In the words of my genious friend Jojo, "The only good Jesus is a dead Jesus. Sadly thats the way it works."

He died.

I read the news today. He was 19 years old. Pretty scary.
The passenger was wounded.

Earlwood; there were lots of rescue-workers, paramedics and policemen on the spot. They tried to cut the driver free from the wreck when I got there.

Well. According to the article (and judging from what the wreck looked like - completely demolished) they had been driving extremely fast. I guess they had themselves to blame.

It's funny; people usually drive too fast on that street, and I always think to myself that one of these days somebody's gonna crash.

Nice poem. The PQ reference was a bit incongruous though.
At least he didn't take anyone with him...

The apartment building I lived in in Austin was on a corner going down a hill, with a 35 speed limit sign. People often did at least 50. In the less than two years I was there I twice saw a car turned over on the side of the road, and the third time someone had ploughed through the fence and through the corner of the ground floor apartment (I was out working at the time, so I didn't see/feel it). After that they built a concrete wall inside the fence to fend off the cars.

I actually have a funnier story to tell (if you have a sick sense of humour like me). I was in a car with my boyfriend driving back from a friends place once on a reasonably curvy, reasonably high traffic road. Out of nowhere this hoon-mobile comes up from behind us, darts around our car and then through a narrow, closing gap between two other cars in front of us. It was going really fast and driving like a maniac. We said to each other something to the effect of, "There's an accident waiting to happen" or "Hope the son-of-a-bitch runs into a tree" or something...

Two turns in the road later, we drive past the car, smashed up on the side of the road with a street sign running through the top of the bonnet. Some other poor car had been run off the road and was pretty smashed up too. Everyone looked safe and uninjured and they were all just pissed at each other.

Still, it was just... funny. I hope it cost those hoons a lot of money.
