So... I seem to be posting relatively often in CL theese days. This time it's about a new style I'm (trying) to draw in. It's not exactly new either, just my version of it. Well a picture says more than a thousand words. (Could someone REALLY anal check out how many times that has been said in this forum, please?) Let's kick it!

Enlightenment is not something you earn, it's something you pay for the rest of your life.

Very  nice... It's got Day of the Tentacle written all over it (Not literally :P). It's very clean and smooth, any chance of a character to go with it?

YOke

Well... Since you asked so nicely, and used so many nice words, I'll post a couple. They are still in development, and are not really up for c&c yet... But here goes:

The big guy WILL get (better) hands, so please no comments on that, thank you! ;)

I don't really like the bent broom handle, but your shadows are appealing to me. Looks good.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

DanClarke

i think the broom handle lools really good, keep it up mate,  ;D

Mari

Good Job!  The style is very well defined and it looks professional.  The only thing I could find to comment on would be the waterpale seems to stick out a bit more than everything else because it seems less cartoonish, and a little too shiny and the water a little to clear and blue for a pale you would normally find in a broom closet (which it what the room appears to be).  But that's only a minor observation and I think if you wanted to leave it the way it is, it would not be an eyesore.

Kick Ass bg.
The characters could be brothers, they look kinda like each other. Or maybe im just stoopid.

YOke

shbaz: I'll have to see when I develop the style more if I'll straighten it out or bend it even more :)

Dan: You too mate. Really looking forward to TLOTLL!!!

Mari: I agree about the bucket. I kind of knew it after I had made it, but I posted it anyway, just to see if I could get away with it :)

Kithium: They are my first two in that style, so thats propably why. Just compare the big guy with the guy in 2ma2's character tutorial. :)

Thank you for all the kind words!

all I can say is WOW THATS FRIGGIN GREAT!!! :o :o :o :o ;)

ravenfusion

Whoa. Those sprites have loads of personality to them. They aren't stiff either, nice use of colour and yes... They do look sorta like tough brother and wimpy brother. :P

Remco

Yeah, that`s the kinda style I like.
There is only 1 entertainer, the Q entertainer!

Jockstrap

You whet my pants...

Peter Thomas

keep the broomhandle as it is. If you straightened it out, I think it would look odd against the 'bendy' door...

This is one KEWL background. And I only ever spell 'cool' that way when I'm elated...
Peter: "Being faggy isn't bad!"
AGA: "Shush, FAG!"

love the background yako, i really like the characters but im not too sure about the posture, the positin they're standing seems kinda awkward.

ill edit the skinny one soon...

hehe

:p looks painful

*edit* i just changed a little, made him look more relaxed

as for the background, i absolutly love it! :D

DanClarke

i dont think i'd be relaxed if i had a knife to my crotch.  ;D

Peter Thomas

^ Hahahah! I was thinking exactly the same thing :D

But I know what you mean, OSC
Peter: "Being faggy isn't bad!"
AGA: "Shush, FAG!"

Chicky

yeh looks kinda sketchy, i was trying to keep the knife. Cus its part of his character. But i couldnt fit it in

lol

YOke

Yeah, I'm still dodgy on the characters. (Still hate drawing people ;) )
They are as I said the first two I've made in that style, and I've heard "people who know" say that you should always have a lively pose on your characters so I tried for something like that. Maybe I went a little overboard with the skinny one. :) I'll post some more dudes later on for c&c so you can help me to get the style down.

Sorry if I get a bit sentimental now, but I feel I have to say it:

When I started to lurk on the forums, only 7-8 months ago, I could barely draw a straight line with the line tool. The people here provided me with the neccessary inspiration and help to get me on my way. You have done wonders to my self esteem theese last days, and I just want to tip my hat to the entire AGS Forum. You all make up what I consider to be the friendliest place on the net! Thank you all!
