Legally, people under 13 aren't supposed to be able to post on the internet without parental permission. In the US, anyway. Most forums or other places that require any personal information restrict access to those over 13. It's a measure against molestors and pornographers.

Now, the reason we have an age limit is because in general, people under 14 tend to post in a rather immature fashion (and that's not their fault, they are kids after all).

The most common problem is over-posting (replying to threads just for the sake of it, without adding anything of value).

Since most of us are adults, this can get rather trying after a while. Of course we have no problem with young people if they post in a mature fashion, and there are several people here to whom that applies.

Finally, we do discuss mature topics here from time to time (such as the Sex and Dating thread) which may not be appropriate for children like yourself to read.

Maybe he has permission. I guess Adventure Game Studio doesn't seem like a pedophile community.

EDIT: Yes. There are very mature threads here. But there isn't really anything here young people haven't seen before. As long as it isn't too detailed.

P.S I don't even get why kids hang around here. The only thing I did on the net was downloading porn at that age.

Im only 14 and have been using the internet since 9, nothing offends me anymore, I have seen it all and have no parental locks. AGS is one of the safer communities online. Even Kids chatrooms are disgusting nowadays.

I've had the internet since I was 13.. I think the first place I went was Playboy.com when I was 12, at my Dad's girlfriend's house. They kept telling me, "We have AOL and it logs every site you go to," and I remember thinking, "Yeah, sure it does." I thought I knew everything about computers those days.

There's an age limit because a lot of smack-talk goes on in here and noone wants to embitter the youth of today. Not everyone, anyway.
