Thanks goes out for everyone who helped me in the past and to also to Mari, who helped me out with the perspective of this thing... at least, I think the perspective is okay... or maybe it isn't... but that's why you're all here, right?

Anyway, on with the show:

1x:

2x:

Any comments would be welcome...  Particulary, I'm worried about the trees - something seems quite odd with them. Should I add shadows to this piece since there's no sun? Should there be more objects added on? Taken off? The grass by the barn and by the well look kind of funny, but how do I fix them? Also, please comment on whether the perspective is correct or not.

I know the edges of the background are kind of messed, and there's this huge blue dot in the sky, but I'll fix them later.

Thanks for your help; it's very much appreciated.

here's a few ideas

- stone made gray not brown
- added noise to grass and road
- added tracks in road
- brightened, contrasted
- added shadows
- fuzzed edges of trees
- added shadow dimension to bushes and trees
- made roofs a red shingle color

Looks good!

Sometings wrong with the road though.
It doesnt really fit the picture. It has no depth.
Other than that, i like it!
By the time you read this you've already read it.

The front tree is fine, but the leaves on the second tree are too large. Otherwise, very nice background!

Whoa... that... is... really nice. It's alright if I use it, right? Of course, I'll give credit to you in my game. Thanks a bunch. :D Next time, I'll brighten up my backgrounds and add more color to make it less dull.

Let me check with my lawyer...yeap, he says you're free to use it.

Is this one of those backgrounds you're using to make that Harvest Moon game? If so than I think you should those othe beegees in perspective as well.
Apart from that I like your style alot. You have great potential, and will be a great artist one day.
There's just bits of lighting and shading that are off, but they were all fixed in M0ds edit.
Overall I like this background and am looking forward to playing game when done!

Cheers

Thanks for the encouragement. :) And to answer your question, although Harvest Moon was my inspiration to make a farm-based game, my game is not going to be about raising crops and animals. It's going to have a story and be something quite different...

However, if that doesn't work out, and if there's enough demand, I'll change this game to have a system exactly like Harvest Moon's. Let's just hope I can do the coding for this. -_-

Excellent, makes me feel like grazing...  :-X

With regard to the trees, if you make the leaves slightly darker, they'll merge a bit better with the background. That's what I think, anyway.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

LOL Zor, I didn't make an edit :P I'd still like to see the leaves made smaller on the back tree though.
