Hi,

Here are some voices for my alien for my game :).

Thats the last place I would go.

I come in piece.

What do you think? Any problems with them?

thanks in advance :)

Iwan

..

Hehehehe..

Only problems i can think of is that if you hadn't said what they were saying i wouldn't hve known.. Then agai i suppose with the Text it would be easier...

Brilliant Voice work!

MrColossal

As with Scuthbert, I can't tell what the voices are without reading the text.

"That's the last place I would go" is awkward sounding. It changes from high pitched unintelligible to lower pitched intelligible. Do the same sentence like 6 more times and post them

the P in "peace" pops something fierce, hold the mic away from your face or speak over the mic and with a much louder voice.

Sometimes it's hard to speak normally when you're alone in your room because you feel silly speaking out so maybe get someone in the room and speak to them while you're recording and just start doing the voice and doing the lines, could help.

I argee with everything that's been said already, and raise it:

If there's going to be quite a bit of speech, you might want to do something about the 'highpitched first half, lower second' thing that both of these have. Personally, and this may just be me, I'd find it very distracting over a full game.

Also, for some reason the 'last place' one makes me think of Mario. I don't know if this is good or bad.

As eric said, maybe having someone else in the room to 'bounce' off would be an idea, at least to get started.
I know what you're thinking ... Don't think that.

DanClarke

the 1st one sounds too much like jar jar binks, for the love of god, please, don't go there.

Fronzel

I like the voices except for the pitch slide, but nothing about them makes me think of aliens.  I mean, thats not necessarily bad, but when I hear it, I don't immediately think "Alien!"
Also, if you want, you can make a cheap pop screen for your mike out of a coat hanger and a thin meshy material (pantyhose is supposed to work allright).  It shouldn't mess up recording quality too bad.  Just a thought.

Mats Berglinn

Well, I like the voices because they sound funny but like the guy before me said, it doesn't sound so much alien.

DanClarke: Oh no, not ANOTHER Jar-Jar hater. I have enough of them so... Knock it off, will you?! Keep your hatings for yourself because I'm sick of hearing that "I hate Jar-Jar Binks" "He's so annoying". To me he is not annoying, I don't see why you others hate him so much.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions  and to MrColossal  in perticular:).

I've made the voice pitch more level and i've also made the the words rounder and clearer.

I didn't want to make the voice sound too much like an alien but more of a human.

I'll post them later as i cant upload it here.

thanks again,

Iwan

Iwan

Ok here are the new versions,

Thats the last place I would go

I come in peace

the fierce pop in Peace is still there but I will eddit it out soon.

Any better... Do they still need changing?

thanks,

Iwan

DanClarke

The top one definitely sounds like JarJar Binks now.

Are they both for the same character? Because they sem like 2 very different voices. Technically theyre a lot better than the 1st ones though.
