He has subjected himself to medical examination and submitted DNA, hair, blood and fingerprint samples to the auditors. Ernst & Young and the Kaufman family report that with a 99% probability, this is indeed the real Andy Kaufman. His mother says, "It's good to have Andy back."

In 1999, a new crop of Kaufman fans were born after Jim Carrey starred in the hit film Man on the Moon. "Andy's bizarre mix of comedy and performance art will inspire fans and comedians alike for generations, especially after this stunt," says Jim Carrey.

Andy says he will make only occasional public appearances, sometimes in disguise so that you won?t know if it?s really him or someone else. Kaufman was famous for pulling this stunt with the Tony Clifton character, sometimes played by good friend Bob Zmuda.

I don't know... I don't see it sorry... Andy was a genious of hoaxing, and the brains tells me that it's easier to fake a back than a death. Are there fingertips and DNA stuff? Ok, if he said that "If I come back it'll be 20 years after of my death" he could have arranged all the stuff to be revealed in 20 years, dna, hair and a rubber finger to leave fingertips are easy to be done.

And what about the photos? That guy in http://andykaufmanreturns.blogspot.com/ is completelly maked up, who know how does he actually looks...

Maybe he is Andy, but dunno... BTW, I just know him by "Man on the moon"... I'd like to see something new of him.

Heh, I don't know what to think of this. The whole thing certainly doesn't look too convincing, but then imagine if he really did fake his death, made a comeback after 20 years and then managed to convince everyone the comeback was a hoax?
