And I'm a journalism student who works at a self-storage facility.

As for what I want to be, maybe a writer of some kind.

I drive a forklift and do wearhousing work.  My job title is "Material Handler"  Which is alot more complex then I ever thought it would be.  My duties inculde: Shipping and receiving fishised products and raw materials all over the country and to Canada,  Gathering together and orgianizing all the raw materials for the production areas (Assembly, QA, printshop, testing ect ect)  and keeping the wearhouse organized and running smooth.

Tomorrow, for exsample, all the big shipments will be going out, so I'll spend about half my night loading Tractor-trailer trucks and making sure they have all the paper work they'll need.

It's not bad work at all, and if I worked for a bigger, better company, I'd make decent money, but sice I work for a samll time operation, with a greedy thug for an owner, I make just enough to live.

As for what I want to do with my life... I'm not sure.  I always thought I wanted to go into film.. to direct movies.  But the more I think very hard about it, the more I think that my movies would end up alot like my music:  not something most people would be interested in.  I really dont think inside the box creativly, and if your particular vision as an artist doesn't have market value, then no one will pay you for it.  I've alway been go at, and really enjoyed working with my hands, I spent a long time as a carpenter.  So I've actually been considering going off to trade school to become a boat builder.  even if I dont become riiich at it, at leat I could live on the sea... something else I've always longed for.

Technically, I'm a professional musician.  In reality, I'm in a band which is putting all of it's earnings back into itself, and am therefore broke.

As for what I want to be..  I want to be a few pounds lighter than I actually am.  Rockstar status would pay for the liposuction and cocaine abuse.

Here's hoping..

(I am also currently a professional musician.Ã,  Yesterday, this kid gave a 50 cents for playing outside my school as I was waiting for my ride.)

if I fail at thatÃ,  which I won't I will try my luck as a restaurant critic.

I work at a shelter for victims of domestic violence, handling everything from volunteers and community service workers, to answering the crisis hotline, to counselling residents, to putting together classes on domestic violence and general life skills.

But if I could do anything, absolutely anything, I'd go back to school, get a degree in teaching English as a second language, then move back to Budapest and teach. It was an incredible amount of fun when I did it as a total amateur, about eight years back, even though it was inredibly difficult.

When I was 18 I wanted to write. Then, over time I realized that I can't write. Once I moved to Ohio someone turned me onto the whole student loan thing, which I knew nothing about. Since then I have "wanted" to be a dozen things. I got so far in debt that I freaked out, left college and went to truck driving school (thus going further in debt). Now I have a class A CDL and do nothing with it. I'm a cook at a little cafe and work about 20 hours a week. I return to college at the end of June. My intention is to just go to school until I get a degree, accidentally. Not think about what I'm going for and just go to school. I've found that is what I am the most happy doing. So, I'm a professional student I suppose.

I think I would either like to teach or do something in computers (maybe both). I don't really want to sit in front of a computer all day though....

Where!? Where can I pay for it!? HUH!? Put a site up and leave it up. I've been trying to listen to your music for two years now and I've only heard ONE song. Seriously. I should put up some of my really old stuff. It's total crap noise. When I had it up on MP3.com I used to get fan mail. FAN MAIL! People will buy it if you believe in it. I am currently promoting an album for Rocco Di Pietro, go to http://www.dipietroeditions.com and listen to some of the music. It is REALLY does not have "market value" as you put it. It's still good music though, it's just good music to a few select people. The key thing is, those few select people buy it and love it. The album got two great reviews in Fanfare magazine.

Did I mention lately that I've been thinking of being a publicist... ;)

I'm not saying that my music will never be heard or apreciated.  I actually have fans in my area, people I've never met!  A feew weeks ago I met a guy at a bar and struck up a conversation, gradulay the talk turned to music and I asked:  so what music are you into?"  he pointed at me and said "your's man"   I had never met the guy!  I was in total awe.  I'll never stop making music or hoping people listen, but at 28 I cant afford to bet the farm on it  and I'll never morph my self into Kayne West or Paul Okenfold to support my self.  I'd rather work in a wearhouse and make my music underground.

And there is a home for my music: http://www.looptheorist.com   It's still under construction, but the foundation has been poured :)

I would like to work in media, like editing videos and that kind of stuff. Apparently I didn't get in to the school I wanted and now I'm not sure what I'm going to do... I'm gonna spend the summer without a job, then try to get a job at autumn, work about four months. Then I have to go to frickin' army that messes all the plans, I could have started my studies next autumn but because of army I have to delay my studies...

I work in software development, but it's all rather tedious. I still don't know what I really want to do with my life; though I hear that there's quite a shortage of truck drivers at the moment so wages are high, so I might give it a go.

Quoteshortage of truck drivers at the moment so wages are high

Be careful with that Chris. That's what I did. Only problem is there are only jobs for those that want to be out for 3 plus weeks at a time. I don't know if you have a girlfriend or not, but it really destroys a relationship.

At least that's the way it is in America. Local trucking jobs tend to be mainly heavy labor, lumber, roofing supplies (I did that for a month, uck). I don't know, how long would it take to drive from one side of England to the other? Perhaps Truck drivers cover the entire EU. That would be cool and suck at the same time...hmmm...maybe I should move to Europe and be a truck driver!  ;D

Hehe, luckily you can drive from one end of the UK to the other in a day. A mate of mine is a trucker and the most time he spends away from home is one night at a time :)

I work in a small theatre (acting not operating) mostly in the office which involves getting paid to sit around waiting for the phone to ring, eating biscuits and gossiping (constructively). I'm also an accompanist and occasional musical director but don't get paid - I really should join the union! Ideally, I'd like to work as a session or touring musician - only support though - I don't want fame.  It's all about the music....(man).  Oh, and I'm also a trainee AGS lurker and Shbazjinkens' professional stalker.

Pesty

Well, I work at the El Pueblo Museum and Archaeological Dig Site. I'm a volunteer, so I don't get paid, but it's great experience. Sometime next fall I'll be taking classes to become a nationally certified interpreter (aka a reenactor). Right now I'm technically still in training, but I can call myself a docent because I've done gallery tours and living history (where we dress up in authentic costumes and explain to school children about the lives of the pioneer people). I'm also a student at the local college, and I'm (eventually) going to go to school for anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology. Right now I'm working on my associates of general studies (Yes, I'm majoring in AGS).

I have a stalker.. and you're female??

You're nearly 10 years older than me and in England, so I guess that's why you've eluded my notice for so long.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

I'm currently a Music Tech student so I guess my jobs would be drinking, sleeping and playing pool in the Student Union.

My dream job would be to get signed to Warp Records and make enough cash from silly bleepy music to not have to do any work and still be able pay the morgage and insure a Lotus Elise.

More realistically, i'll probably end up designing music software/plugins, or working on audio/sound effects/music production for video games. Either way, it won't be too bad.

Pesty

I didn't even tell you guys about my trip to the southwest of the US that featured studying several ruins in the area and crossing a very dangerous suspension bridge (with 3+ foot gaps!) over a rushing river. My life is adventurous!
