I have Windows XP, and yes, I know it's the worst possible operating system to have.  Anyways, I tried to run my old Space Quest I, but it comes with "C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CONFIG.NT This file cannot run 16-bit DOS games" or something along those lines.  I tried SQIII AND LSLII, but to no avail.  What the hell do I do? >:(
Alright, you primitive screwheads, listen up!  You see this?  This...is my BOOMSTICK!

To play them under window$ you may try using intepreters like NAGI or others.

DCillusion

Use DosBox 6.  It's really stable and you can overclock it to make the game run as smooth as silk.

Use Abandon Loader if you wanna play old games like this in XP...

This site seems to have it, though I couldn't find the official page for it. If you feel abit wary of this website, then you can go through google search...

What's with all the XP bashing these days?!? I honestly don't see anything wrong with it. Everyone disses it, but they never have any good reason to.. Just because it's new, and won't run 15 year old games.

ME is the worst possible operating system if you ask me.

Oh, and use VDMSound to run old games on XP. It's easy, fast, and works on SQIII AFAIK. ( http://vdmsound.sourceforge.net )
You. Me. Denny's.

Thanks, guys.  Ulence Flats, here I come!

Yep, XP is da' bomb.  Just like everything else, though...you have to be smarter than the equipment.  If you're not, find someone who IS smarter than the equipment and DL their emulator (DOSBox or Abandonloader). :)

Halleleiuah, finally somebody else! I don't understand the pointless XP-bashing either, it's worked fine for me, has NEVER crashed, and runs nearly every game I own, from Monkey Island on. Maybe I just know how to USE the computer, I don't know. ANd yes, ME is the worst to have, definitely not XP.
Status: Trying to come up with some ideas...

Okay, I tried running DotT with Abandon Loader, and it still came up with the "C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CONFIG.NT" error.  I'll try DosBox.

For DOTT, it would be better to use ScummVM. It's an emmulator made specifically for LucasArts adventure games.. And like Gilbert said, NAGI would be the best for AGI games. Usually these engine-specific emmulators are better than the ones that are made to cover a more general area, since emmulating fewer games means fewer compatability issues..

Doc Comic

Thanks, Ben.  I installed Scumm, and DOTT runs smoother than the DeepShip 86's floors.   ;D
