I will soon finish my first AGS game under the title Fortress of Wonder. A game of medieval fantasy, magic, dragons, wraiths, vampires and wizards...
...and a sexy barbarian woman as the star!

I also work on a point'n'click remake of Shadow of the Comet, with a few new twists in the scenario.
I'd like to know how do you feel about such an attempt.

That's great!

Now... how about some screenshots?Ã,  Character art?

Something??

I'm afraid I haven't uploaded any screenshots of the game. I don't have a site and I don't think there is another way of posting images.

ohhh, nice characters and inventory but I think the house is a little too bright tbh :(

I'm all for a remake of Shadow of the Comet - simply because too few people know the game, and at least I can't get it to run on my computer (the cd version at least). BUT, to be honest, I much prefer the original background (http://www.mobygames.com/game/shots/p,2/gameId,132/gameShotId,414/) to yours. All that texture work totally turns me off.

I'm aware that you probably want a higher resolution than the original, but not only does it seem more realistic to actually finish a remake when using the old backgrounds. But you'll also get a weird blurry effect if you want to keep the original (and fabulous) character portraits and just double their size to fit the higher resolution (as seen in the into screen).

I my opinion, the original game suffered under a somewhat clunky interface, a number of annoying action scenes (mostly in the catacombs), as well as some puzzles than either made no sense or seriously lacked clues to the solution. These issues are what you should spend time on - not on redrawing pretty nice graphics just to get a higher resolution (and a bigger download).

Don't take this is a critique of your project - I'm totally for the initiative to remake one of the most underrated horror games. I just think you should prioritize differently.

The background looks great, but I'm pretty sure those sprites are copyrighted, since they're from Well of Souls. http://www.synthetic-reality.com/wosHome.htm

These are exactly the reason I plan on this remake. I think SotC was a highly atmosphairic and frigthening game that deserved more attention.
As for the backgrounds, I intend to add some of my own and change some of the existing rooms (trying mostly to give them different prespectives), so it would look weird if I had a mix of both.

Thanks for the support. I'll try not to fail you!!!

Looks promising but i think you need to define a style, the screenshots youve posted look like theyre from 3 different games.

Three different games? I'd say five!
I'd like to play a remake of Shadow of the Comet - GG's approach sounds good!

Fortress of Wonders sounds fun, and a remake of Shadow of the Comet is a great idea, I loved the original but the interface almost ruined it for me. Hope you'll finish your projects soon!
