In essence it was. He didn't do all the voices obviously.

But it was alot of work. Feel free to be excited and look at the stars, but recognise the effort it takes.

yes, it was. Creating a commercial game isnt a good idea untill you have had alot of exprience with it. we would all LIKE to one day.

Yeah, I mean who doesn't dream of earning some cash off of a hobby, something they enjoy doing?

HOWEVER, consider that you'll need to make a pretty professional quality game if you're expecting people to pay for it, and even if they do you probably won't get many people willing to pay more than $15-$20 for it. You'll also have to distribute the game, so taking into account the cost of blank cds, you probably won't make an immense profit.

Not to piss in your cornflakes or anything, but I wouldn't expect to make a lot of money selling an amateur game.

Good luck though!

I wouldn't make a professional game for the money.. I would make one just for the fact that I did it.. And I could put it on my resume! Ahah.. Personally, I wouldn't want to deal with the tax issues.. Much like what happaned with Ionias and Fatman..

I'd say.. Make a big game.. (after completeing smaller ones, of good quality, to get a hang of what you're doing) and then, make it a talkie. Have the non-talkie for download, and then through paypal or something, offer a special CD edition with voices and extra features.. That way, more people will play your game.. And if they like it enough, they just might buy the CD. Best of both worlds, no?

My game, By the Sword, will be a commercial game. Deciding on pricing is a tough issue, just keep that in mind. You have to figure out how much a cheapskate each one of us is, and how much your game would realistically be worth. Look at the market, play other games, see what works and what doesn't.

Well, to be honest, if anyone wants to get paid for what they're doing, I'll happily pay them some amount. When m0ds was doing the soundtrack, he asked for money and I promised himi $40 total for his work. If you want money for it, I'll gladly pay you. Name your price, Senor Colossal. :)

What's scary is the irony of the posters name.

Most people won't know what I'm talking about.
