Okay, I need some serious C&C on this Main Character.  I don't have a program that can animate him, but I do have his current spritesheet...

I think his arms look like they are made of paper, and his legs don't quite look right either.  Any suggestions on how to fix these and others flaws???

PS- I would highly appreciate it if someone could put these into an animation, but no one has to  :-[

-many thanks in advance

Hi,
There are some things that come to my mind when I see your sprite.
First of all: Do you intend to let him look as if he is very sad. If not, try to change his mouth a bit.
Second: I think the head is to round. It should be a bit more oval. And normally it looks better if you don't use a black outline on your characters. If you want to use an outline (Normally you don't even need one) you should try something that has a coulour that looks more like the colour in it.
As for his arms: Yes, they look a littel bit as if they were made of paper. An easy way to change it is to change his shoulders. Move his arms nearer to the body and it will look much better.
I think you made his legs bigger and less bigger to show that this guy is walking. A better way to do this is to use shadows and some movement in the knees. The same  with the arms. Don't make them bigger if they are more in the front, move them in the elbows (I hope this id the right word),

But apart from my suggestions I like your sprite. And the hair looks quiet well to me.

Akumayo

Okay, I took in your head and outline suggestions, here is the result:

PS- When I get around to animating him, I will try bending the knees and elbows,

More C&C on either picture is wanted!

Well, its a step in the right direction. Could use a little more work though.
Fill in the gaps between his neck and his shoulders, bring his arms closer to his body + shorten them and make his legs longer.

Oh yeah, add shading. I'll do a quick edit if I get time.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

I did all the things I just listed, and added a belt buckle.
Sorry about the white around the purple. I always do that when I make a sprite ( so I have a place to temporarily put extra things and such) but I forgot to remove it.

I like the edit, though it is a bit lighter coloured.  I don't really think he needs a belt bukle, but I do like his arms and legs better.  More C&C from others still wanted!!!
And if anyone can animate this guy I woulld appreciate it.

Looks kinda cool, actually, like he's made of paper. :)  Animation's pretty good, just need to move the arms and legs at the joints instead of moving the entire arm and leg.

He looks like he is made of paper. Cool 3D thing. Just asking, did you do this on MS Paint and saved it on JPG format? This was just a guess.
Moving at superhigh speed getting to the planet called Earth. But it is boxed in white......thing.....

Akumayo

Thanks for putting that together pixelcat, and yes, I did do this in MS-Paint (aka MS-Pain) but it is a GIF, not a JPEG, to save file space.  So, I was thinking, (which is dangerous for me) and he does look like he is made of paper, do you think I should make the whole game in this style, like it is all made of paper??? (It would bring new meaning to the phrase, 2D adventure....)

That would be nice. I can't wait to see your game.

Yep... that paper idea sounds quite original and fun.

Sort of like Paper Mario in a way.

I'd suggest you to try to draw different versions first to get best look for your character. For example, use more line tool! These free-hand arms of his look somewhat unfinished.
Then try animating.
Animating doesn't need any special program, I've tried many and actually MSPaint is best for working with smaller sprites!
It's all up to animator, not program.

Akumayo

Actually I have tried this guy two different ways, as far as colouring, and this was the best one, thanks for all your help guys, I think I  will make him bend his arms in at the elbow as he walks and mabye make his thighs stay the same size as his lower leg bends back and upwards behind him...  (PS- these sprites are made for an RPG, I even have the battle system complete!)

An RPG? I think that would be good for an innocent NPC.

He looks like he's skating at the moment. I wonder how it will look after you improve it.
You know what they say... no... wait... you don't. What a shame.
