Fortunately I've never had a harddisk crash on me, but I live in constant fear.
I know he's a reasonable man, but does anyone know for sure if Chris keeps regular backups of the AGS source code?

I'd hate to read one day
"I lost the AGS source code today. Sorry, AGS is dead." :P

Haddas

You just gave me nightmares. I for one most certainly hope he keeps backups

That'll happen, next 1st of April.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

Nacho

When Minimi expressed that he'd only care for AGS updates if Chris Jones dies (Insert giggle here) I think CJ said something that there are backups, and that this are being passed to someone (Rodekill or AGA?) regularilly.

I remember reading something about that... Or maybe I was drunk.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Evil

So there really is an underground AGS network. I knew it!

edmundito

Don't forget the AGS love triangles, too!

rodekill

For the record, I don't have access to the source, so you can stop your plotting now.
Though if CJ ever needed another backup, I'd be happy to volunteer my cd-burner and some blank disks for the job.
SHAWNO NEWS FLASH: Rodekill.com, not updated because I suck at animation. Long story.

What's that brown smudge on your nose, rode?

I'm sure CJ is intelligent enough to have a back-up for AGS. But just to make sure, let's send him a computer crippling virus.

hm...

Mr Jake

the AGS source code is a MYTH rip :o

CJ! HOW COULD YOU!

Hollister Man

I wondered about that myself.  If CJ was unable to work on it anymore, (through any means) what would happen to us beggars here with our "I need this function" and "I'd like ray traced bumpmapped backgrounds, can you do it?"

What made me think of this is that our project leader on DQ has been around a little, but hasn't said anything to us for six months, and he still has some of the parts we need. :/  That makes me wonder.
That's like looking through a microscope at a bacterial culture and seeing a THOUSAND DANCING HAMSTERS!

Your whole planet is gonna blow up!  Your whole DAMN planet...

Evil

And if Chris died, would we ever know? :P

Pumaman

The AGS source code is indeed on Kazaa, but accompanied by and labelled as porn. That way, a lot of people will have it but not have noticed.

Like that "joke" about making AGS shareware? Or is that real? I hate it when CJ fools us like that someday.
Moving at superhigh speed getting to the planet called Earth. But it is boxed in white......thing.....

Edwin Xie

I was wondering, did anybody download the source code and then modified it?

There is, but it only involves ant-farming and collecting toasters.
