May I ask you which team impressed you then? Portugal, am I right?

Andail

It was pretty expected that we would lose against Holland, but as the match progressed, I must say we had plenty of good chances. At least two shots in the bar/pole.
Our team was more composed here than in any earlier match. A shame it had to be decided with penaltykicks.

Oh well, we should be pretty happy just to have reached the quarters. Now I guess I'll cheer on Greece.

Portugal? a! A bunch of dribblers/divers. Aside from the defenders, only Deco is playing well there.

Who did impress me? Sweden and Greece.

Deco is deciding between Bayern München and FC Barcelona... If he finally joins us heç ll be good! XD

Teddy Sheringham was 37 this year for portsmouth and scored something like 10 goals which helped towards premiership survival so :) good luck to him

Barcik

He's a '9', so he doesn't really need to move much.

Anf for the humble price of free, I think its a good deal.

It's not as if he's not really good, he is, but it is not really a great perspective to buy players at the age of 32.

What about Greece. Do you think they'll make it to the finals?

Well if you want to know MY opinion.... they can.

Greeks are underdogs hungry for success and high on quarterfinal euphoria shot. But not only because of this, they are very well organised and mix of Greek temperament and German discipline works amazingly. Anyone remembers Euro 1996 in England? Czech Republic was surprise of this tournament as they reached the final and were 20 minutes from victory loosing 2:1 to Germany at extra time... Their style was very similar to Greek this year, solid defense, well organised play and deadly breaks. Some claimed this kind of football is boring (and were right IMO) but it is quite effective and it can make any "favourite" nervous.

Also there is "underdogs underestimation" factor. Greece made it to semis and everybody should be well aware of this fact but still the players can subconsciously underestimate this side since Greeks never achieved anything substantial at international level. This could be leathal and maybe this is the reason why French are on holiday already.

To sum it up, I see Greek chnces higher than bookies at Ladbrokes.

But being Czech myself, it should be clear that I hope for exact opposite. ;)Ã,

I want Greece to win because they are underdogs, but i want Czechs to win because of the holland match..

kaaZ

Yeah a rematch would be cewl...The Holland-Czechs match was the best so far let's hope we can see them play each other again in the finals. Ofcourse hoping the Dutch will win ;)
any predictions for tonights match ? Let's say we'll win 2-1....

Given the way they'll playing right now, I doubt the Dutch will make it. C'mon Dick (heh), get Makaay in the damn match already! I can believe he's not using Van Nistelrooy and Makaay together. By the way, is it me or is this game kinda boring?

I don't think Greece'll get through, but hell, I've been saying that for the whole thread now, so I dunno. :P It's just a good thing that the Czechs are now like the big favorites to win the Euro, so we're the underdogs again. So we'll see.

(edit)

Oh hey, Makaay was in but I didn't notice him. Guess he's playing just as bad as everyone else. And it's pretty much over now, Portugal is in the final.

(2nd edit)

Haha, as soon as I pressed "Save", that defender scored an own goal. And now Van Nist almost equalled it. Forget what I said about a boring game!
