Read the email on the computer. You'll find out that the captain's 55th birthday was only a few days ago.

It's a subtle hint. Basically, the code is the captain's birth date. That is, 28th July 2030. Therefore the six digit code is 280730.

It's the same for me. I just played through again from the beginning, and still it immediately says there are no emails.

The email only comes up on the appropriate day, that is on the friday (I think). Maybe that's why you are not getting it.

You could also be typing "mail" instead of "email" in the computer terminal - that happened to me. 

In any case, you don't need it until you see blood coming out of William's room (that's almost at the end). Maybe you're not as advanced in the game as you thought...

I just escaped the brig and shot the Captain's body. Now I am running for my life - thing is I am getting a bit tired of running around without a single clue of what to do. I know for a fact that William is in his room and that Adam is hiding in the shaft. Other than that, nada.

I don't think I missed anything. The Captain's corpse walked in and killed Angela. While the Captain's corpse was turning the force field off, I took the gun and shot it. I also took the baseball bat-thing used to hold paper (I can only guess).

i haven't gotten the email about the captain's birthday yet. adam is on the observation deck, angela is at the console, william is in his office, serena is missing and i have gotten the bloody lunch but i don't know what to do next i'm wandering around aimlessly. what am i missing? i think it's wednesday.
