Before CJ gets any ideas, I veto the suggestion of bigger avatars. I say we go the opposite way and decrease their size. And the sigs as well. And the er, nick length.

You know, there's an option that will allow you to not see them at all.

And you use an animation, which is more taxing than a static 100x100 pixel jpg..
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

I agree with Esseb though, I'm really put off by all the forums that have 100x100 sized avatars as standard now. I like having a neat, little, semi-restrictive avatar - I think it lets people get more creative. On the forum I frequent with people constantly pushing the avatar sizes, the pictures are just becoming peoples favourite large anime images and I think it looks a little retarded. Mind you, all those people really are retards so it's their fault I'm sour on the idea, I suppose.

I too like the current avatar size, anything that can fit a wave of babies (& therefore a popular reference) is good enough for us......

Speaking of avatars, I can't figure out where to change mine now.

Me neither. I can change personal text, but see no space for personal avatar. And I don't want to be stck on pirate goose forever!

Esseb

Normally I would be amused that you thought I was being serious Shba, but this time, for some reason, I feel like clarifying: I like avatars, I'm just opposed to increasing their size.

auhsor

Yeah I'm fine with the size of the avatars. Any biger and they don't look so neat and tidy, and they just take up more space.

And me.  I need to change it because I switched servers.  Dang.
Space Quest: Vohaul Strikes Back is now available to download!

Ishmael

It's teh went missing. It was there a while ago, but since I do not use an avatar unless I bloody got to take that one photo, or find a very ready one, I don't mind... but in time, I'd like it back.

Anyways, I guess CJ has a reason for hiding it... or the update did it...
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

<Calin> Ishmael looks awesome all the time

I noticed a new thing....or at least, I've never seen it before:

While I was replying to someone's question in a topic, I clicked 'post' (duh). Instead of taking me back to the topic, it took me back to the "post reply" screen with a message saying something along the lines of:

"While you were typing, someone else posted. You may want to rethink your post"

Someone had already answered the question while I was typing, so I no longer needed to post.

I've never seen that before, & I thought it was quite clever.

    * It is possible to set default theme settings for all users, and to force settings on members.
    * Addition of database sessions to enable the forum to work correctly on poorly configured servers.
    * Several new options added to the member's "look and layout" section of the profile.
    * When posting a message, any errors generated will not result in the post being lost.
    * The post screen will now warn you if new replies were added whilst making your post.
    * Many package manager improvements. (it almost works properly now!)
    * It is now possible to add as many options to a poll as you wish with javascript.
    * You can limit the amount of attachments that can be added to a post.
    * People can register with a wider variety of characters in there name, plus more internationalization.

... it's quite easy being the best.

Ah, for some reason the upgrade disabled normal members from changing their avatar (I could still do it so I couldn't see the problem to begin with). Hopefully it should be fixed now.

And no, we're not having larger avatars :P

Quote* Added "Male to Female ratio" and "Users Online Today" to the statistics page.

Well, doesn't that just make the whole upgrade worthwhile...

Of course it does! It means that your AGS program is too male-oriented! Maybe you should add some sort of feminine touch to it... whatever that would be. :P

Pumaman

Right, well in an effort to level out the ratio, I can now announce that from the next version AGS will be renamed Barbie Game Studio.

Privateer Puddin'

I can't seem to be able to change avatar.

Esseb

Should be on top of "Forum Profile Information". Works for me at least.

Privateer Puddin'

Hmm, not here, there is personal text, then birthdate, location and gender.. perhaps it's the mittens titles thingies?

Pumaman

Oops you're right, it's the mittens titles. Should be fixed now.
