Interesting idea for a competition. It could work. Maybe if you define some boundries on what it should look like.
Um since i'm the next person and I don't have a GUI to show, I think I'll pass it on to the next...

it will be like the ms paint game

ex.

draw a gui with 8 interactions:
walk
look
talk
open
take
eat
give
drop


ex.
draw a gui with 12 options
look, take, talk, open, close, eat, give, drop, walk, feel, break, examine



ex.
draw a gui that is original
-have a hit button
-have a strength option

you can come up with anything!
