Sam.

I recently got a new pc for my birthday. It is shiny,  silver and blue. the panel down the front is silver but my drives are horrific beige. I have found a stealth cover for my dvd but i can't find one for my cd drvie. its model number is
Samsung CD-R/RW SW-252F. can anyone help me find a silver cover for this. i tried a mod for using one of my bay covers but that didn't work. any other suggestions?
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

You can take the panel of the drives, but it can be risky if you don't know what you're doing

auhsor

Spraypaint and masking tape :P

Mr Jake

get velcro and the old drive bay covers, attach velco to the drivebaycovers and the the drawer , then all you have to go is press in the corner to open the drive and it should match the rest of the case.

Sam.

i tried it and it did work but my case has a little lip to stop the cd drive from falling into the case. it also stops the bay cases from being moveable when pushed right in so pusihng the corner does nothing. as i said, it didnt work for me. but thanks for the suggestion

Just look around on some case modding sites and find out what kind of paints you can use on a case.. then get some.. Paint.. ;-p

Like Haddas said, you need to take the cover off of the drive first. Usually there are snaps on cover itself and it should pop off, but you need to be careful.

Then buy some Krylon Gloss finish spray paint. I dont know if they even make a sliver, but they make tons of other colors, so I'm sure one would match with the blue.

Spray the cover with a light coat of paint and then wait for it to dry. Then wip it down with a rag, getting all the dusy off of it. Continue this until you have a full coat.

You're best bet is to buy some artist "fix-it" spray. Its basicly like a protective coat over the paint to keep it from chiping. Sometimes it doesnt spray even so you need to do light coats with this too, but not as many.

Lastly, wipe it off and slap it back on your drive. Yay, now its all shiney! Good luck :D

Edit: Now that I think about it, Testors makes small flasks of silver oil based paint. Its not the best and it would be difficult to make it smooth, but you could try that too.

Well i snapped the 'little clips' whilst getting my cover off my cdrw. Blutak does the job great for making it stay fixed on. ;)
