I am in the process of my new game called "the sting" AT THE MOMENT its
about a 20 yearold called "colin" who finds some ppl in his room when he wakes up they ask him to do a job(ideas there). He wonders why they chose him since he has nothin to do with the crime world but finds out he has been mistaken for a mafia crime boss and he loves it all the money and chmpagne he gets but when a turf war is declared he is a main target.

thats all i've got i would appreciate some help
thnx

well, you could say his uncle was the crime boss, but died of a heart attack, and his closest living relative is Colin.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Hi

Maybe the job he is asked to do is to something basic but then it ends up that the sting is on you and the people that wanted you to do the job try to kill you (a set up) because they think you are your uncle (scumm buddy's idea). You then need to stay away from them until you can find some way of prooving to them that you are not your uncle.
Just a quick idea, scratch it if you don't like it.
Hope it helps

It's not really believable that a guy would wake up and a bunch of mafia goons would be in his room 'mistaking' him for a crime boss (let me explain :) ).  Mafia bosses are (or were) pretty high profile in the crime syndicate racket, I don't really think it would be possible to mistake someone for one unless they looked and sounded exactly alike (and were living in the same mansion).  Something you might consider is that he stumbles into a cafe in a seedy part of town or something at the wrong time, and happens to be wearing the same kind of hat that some infamous "thug without a face" they hired always wears (the thug gets sidetracked in the beginning from his goal and can come back later on to cause you trouble).  This can follow the same kind of path that yours does, where the mafia boss takes you in and gives you champagne and everything you want...And then asks you to kill someone ;D

Here's a different spin on your original idea -- the guys who pick him up are more or less relying on their intimidation factor, their ability to offer wealth and power and Colin's gullibility so that they can get him to do their dirty work: an assassination of some high profile person.

You could then try all sorts of things to try to get yourself out of the whole thing OR you could just go along with it, depending on what kinds of incentives that they offer you in return.... but eventually you have the big choice: either commit the murder, or be killed by whoever "hired" you.

The thing is, these guys aren't any sort of mafia thugs, they're some sort of super-secret government agents. As such, the police don't know about them, and no one in the government will fess up to their existance.

You're found out. And now you're a wanted man. As a result, you have to "go underground", relinquish your identity and leave your life behind in order to prove that you were forced to commit the crime and bring the guys who muscled you into committing the murder to justice.

You'd eventually track down the agents who decieved you in the first place, find evidence against them, take them down, and take them in.

The game would conclude with some sort of trial situation or something, where the evidence for and against your case is weighed. Depending on what you managed to gather during the game and what your exact actions were in terms of the assassination (i.e., at what point you decided that you'd kill the person), you'd either be decalared innocent or guilty (or possible variations, like Manslaughter, Murder in the Second Degree, Murder in the First Degree, etc.).

...May be a bit ambitious though....
